Slippers for Toddlers?
hi all--
we are moving into a new house that has all refinished hardwood floors. i was wondering what type of slipper would be good for my 18-month-old daughter. the house is two floors, and the stairs are carpeted, but the rest of the rooms will be hardwood. i'm figuring that refinished floors won't give splinters, but i would like a good (not too expensive) non-skid indoor slipper/slip-on that she can wear (and keep her feet warm in winter). all suggestions are welcome-- thanks!
follow-up question: besides the carter socks, what are the brands of "slipper socks" do people like? thanks!

I had this problem while my kids were young - for some reason they just couldn't grasp the concept of walking on a slippery floor and - unless barefoot - always needed some kind of "grippy" sole on their socks. They didn't always want slippers though - it made their foot too hot. So we always got socks with gripper stuff on the bottom - usually could find them at KMart. When I couldn't find them - I made them using Puff Paint for fabric. Just a few polkadots on the bottom of their socks worked wonders!

They are a little pricey but I LOVE the Hanna Andersson moccasin socks. I get one pair for each of kids every winter. They are machine washable.

I think slipper socks are great & they stay on better than slippers.

I tried a lot of them (slippers, socks, slipper-socks) - but my son wouldn't keep them on his feet no matter what I did. My child would walk bare foot on snow if I let him.

I agree with the slipper socks. I've bought several pairs of slippers for my child (because I wear them all the time) and not one pair has ever stayed on her feet. I don't know why but they don't.
