Hello everyone. Do you have any answers?
My 4 yr old son had seemed to be doing well in his transition from diapers to pullups to underwear. Now that he is in underwear full time he has started nighttime bedwetting.I have searched the internet looking for help ( I am not sure about using electrodes on him at all). He sleeps very deeply and soundly and just does not wake up to go to the bathroom.
Getting tired of washing sheets every night!!!

We talked to our doctor who reminded us that boys' bladders all develop differently. Don't put too much pressure on him and don't drive yourself crazy by washing sheets every day. Our oldest son just turned 7 and is still wearing Good Nights to bed even though he has been trained during the day since he was 3. Our younger son, was night trained by age 4. If he is only 4, you need to buy some Good Nights. We call them Good Night Undies and our 7 year old puts them on right before bed. He is now dry most nights and we just talked to our doctor again who said we might want to check into an alarm if his body doesn't regulate itself in the next few months. Good luck.

My son wet the bed for two years but he didn't start until he was 7. My doctor prescribed medicine called tth or something like that I just threw away the bottle. What it does is stops the kidneys from producing urine at night. This "trains" the body for nighttime. He was only on medicine for two months over the summer. He had maybe two accidents since finishing the medicine. It is so much better. He was so embarrassed when we bought Goodnights. He would hide them in the cart.

Not sure if this will help but, I've been going to a chiropractor and she had a class that she likes all her clients to attend to understand Chiropractic elements and we touched on many different problems people have and one of them was bed wetting. She has helped others with this even a grown man. If interested I will give you her name and you can contact her to see if it's something she could help you with.

I have a 6 year old who started wetting the bed at nite after being fully potty trained and listened to lots of suggestions just like the ones you have. One thing not to do is take away fluids because this will cause the child to get bladder infections because they are not getting the fluids to clean out their kidneys and bladder that they need and when that bacteria sits in their underwear they will get infections which will make the problem worse. The one thing we did that helped alot was only allow water after a certain time at nite. She also only takes showers as the doctor told us if she does have the bad bacteria in her urine that they stay alive in the water and so baths are out. We are also going to get her tested for diabetes, she is constantly thirsty and that and the bed wetting are signs. Another thing to look at is have you moved, switched daycares or anything such as that. Kids react differently to changes and stresses and maybe that is what is happening.
Sorry this was so long and I hope some of this helps you

I have the exact problem with my daughter! She is 5 and has started to wet the bed nightly. She doesn't even know it, she is such a heavy sleeper! She potty trained fully at 2 years, day and night, but in the last year she has slipped at night. The dr said there is no medical reason (he ran some tests), but that it's really not that big a deal until more like 7 yrs of age. My dr didn't recommend any of those bell pads or anything until they were more like 7, since that's when the child is more likely to WANT to stop. Right now, it's more frustrating for the parent then it is the kid. Hang in there, I will be looking at the posts to your problem too, maybe I will find something that will help me! ~ D.

Hi T.,
I would suggest that you limit his drinking past 6:00p.m. and before you go to bed take him to the bathroom. Put him on the toilet or hold him on the toilet. If he can't go, turn on the faucet and wait a few minutes. I even put my sons fingers in warm water. He always went. Good luck. J.

Had a similar experience with a 7 year old grandson - also a deep sleeper. Had to be sure to stop all fluids early in the evening, and make certain to potty prior to bed. Assure him that if he is afraid to get up in the night you will be there to take him. Austin made great strides, and in a few weeks, the problem disappeared! Good luck to you and yours.
