Help Me Plan My Anniversary!

My husband and I will celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary next week, and we alternate years of doing the planning. This year it's my turn! We used to go on out of town trips each year but with three children and a fourth on the way that is just no longer feasible. This year I would like to do a His and Her outing. So far, I have massages and facials booked at a local spa - yes, he will enjoy this but it is definitely the "Her" portion of the evening. So, we should be done between 6 and 6:30pm next Friday evening and now I need something "manly" for us to do on Friday night. We will be in the Mid-Cities and I've already checked the Rangers and they are out of town. :( We wont have eaten at this point, so if we stumble upon something involving food, even better. So what do we do????

Congratulations! We have 4 kids also. For our anniversary this past year, we went to Texas de Brazil in downtown Ft. Worth. My husband loves food, and this was definitely right up his ally with all different kinds of meat. It was a very nice restaurant. You will definitely want to make reservations. Also, if you sign up on their website for their newsletter, they will send you coupons. We were sent a half-off coupon to celebrate our anniversary!

Also, another great food resturant is Del Frisco's (I think it is in Addison). We went there in Feb. The BEST steaks that we have EVER had! Great service! Great place! Once again, this is a pricey resturant, but we splurged to celebrate Valentines and a bonus that my husband had received. You will want to make reservations. I highly recommend it!

Have fun!

What about heading out to Ft. Worth? Tons of fun things to do down there and you could have dinner at Joe T. Garcia's. http://www.joets.com/

I'll even drag my husband from Plano out to Joe T's sometimes.

How about going to eat at Fogo de Chao (4300 Belt Line Rd)? It's a Brazilian steakhouse. They come to your table with a chunk of meat on a skewer and slice it off right onto your plate. Very manly! Speedzone (11130 Malibu Dr) might be a fun place to hang out. If you're pregnant, obviously you won't want to ride the race cars but there's miniature golf and video games too. If you want to do the video game thing, there's also Dave & Busters (10727 Composite Dr). Both Speedzone and D&B serve food if you want to skip the steakhouse in order to eat & play at the same location. Good luck and congratulations on your anniversary!

If you like Baseball also remember the Ft. Worth Cats and the team in Frisco. These teams aren't big league but neither are the ticket prices. My family has gone to the Round Rock Express and those games are just as fun as the Rangers games.

My husband and I also take turns planning our anniversary. This year was his year to do the planing and we stayed in the DFW area. We went to Mideval(sp?)Times the first night and then the next day we went to the ballet in Dallas and that evening we went to the Stock Yards and the next morning we went to Monster Jam. It was really a fun time and we both got to do things we enjoyed.

Hi B.!

What about seeing a "Guy Flick" at the Movie Tavern? You could see a movie and eat dinner there. It looks like the only "Guy Flick" out right now is Iron Man, but it is a great movie!

You could go to a sports bar and watch sports on their TV's and eat there.

Wow...that was harder than I thought. I would love to know what you end up planning.

Here is what I would suggest. Go to www.internationalstarregistry.com and order a star in his name. The star chart and certificate might not be in the mail in time, but you can print it from their website and have a smaller version to present to him. Get some candles, a blanket and a telescope and go hang out with some munchies at the lake to do a little star gazing and let him know that from now on when you look at the stars, you will think of him.

I think that you might take him to see the Dallas Summer Musical (I think "Ring of Fire is still playing that weekend) you can call the Crystal Terrace at the Music Hall to make reservations at 7:00 for dinner (lovely buffet) and then ticketmaster for available seats. There are very few bad seats in the hall.

We saw it last night and if your husband likes Johnny Cash music, as mine does, it will be a big hit. We thought it was really fun. This one was sort of like a Branson show.

If I have my dates wrong then it will be something else fun, maybe "Cats" or "Stomp." Either of which you will enjoy.
