Have You Been to the Dump?

Has anyone here been to The Dump off of 635? Do they have good prices? Do they have much of a selection, and if so, what types of furniture do they mostly have? Mostly all I ever hear them advertising is mattresses, oriental rugs, and leather living room furniture, but do they have other stuff as well?

What can I do next?

Hi N.,

I've been there a couple times. It's a HUGE place and they have pretty much everything. Sofas, chairs, dining tables, armoires, kids furniture, adult bedroom furniture, etc... I wouldn't say their prices are great, we didn't see anything about their prices that were competitive compared to other furniture stores.

It's exactly what it's called - a DUMP! Not only are the prices not a bargain, most of the furniture looks like leftover stock from Rooms To Go, etc. or stuffy couches that are made out of maybe the ugliest fabric ever, which will still leave you with 'sticker shock'. They did have some kitchen tables for decent prices, but I question the quality of what they carry. I would skip going there - it's either overpriced or ugly, plus everything is so crammed together inside the store, you feel like you are running through a maze just to escape empty handed.
If you go there - don't set your expectations too high.

I agree, it's a dump. You might find some hard to find things there, but we didn't find anything we liked there. We might have found one sofa we liked, but it was REALLY expensive. Everything was way overpriced! They were like twice the price of a Havertys or Broyhill.

We were very disappointed. Extremely expensive - granted, a $6,000 couch could be had for $4,000.... but still, way too much money. We ended up at Rooms 2 Go and got a really nice sofa/loveseat for a decent price. I've heard that some people were dissatisfied with their service, but we had a really good experience at the one in Grapevine. Also, there is a broyhill (i think) outlet off 114 in Grapevine/Southlake that had some decent things at reasonable prices.

The place is huge and they have a very wide selection. As with anything, you'll find some very unique, nice high end pieces, but some of the stuff I found - maybe not so special.

I would definitely put them on my list to look when making a purchase but limited days for shopping and can take a while due to size of facility.
