I have an appt. for my son's 2 yr pics at Portrait Innovations, but i've never used them before. Any suggestions/feedback? I normally use Kiddie Kandids, but wanted to try someplace new. I have used JCPenny and Sears in the past, but I like receiving the pictures the same day. THANKS.

They are wonderful! I've been to them 3 times and have referred a couple of people who've gone and really like the pictures...even a professional photographer was impressed. It can get expensive if you buy the packages, but you can go really cheap if you stick to the 1 pose $10 package that is HUGE. I've been to the Orland Park and Normal, IL ones. They are both good.

Unlike the other posts, I had a not so good experience and know a few other moms who would agree. We plan to go back to JC Penny for their 18 months. Good luck if you go.

- Unprofessional staff
- Untrained staff/photographers
- Too many people trying to get infants to smile and poor kids don't know where to look
- Horrible use of props or no use at all
- Yes, you receive pictures in one day but quality is a little less
- I had issues with cropping and was given a hard time to get a replacement when a random hand was in our picture
- I even wrote the PI studio I visited and never heard back

Love Portrait Innovations!!! They do a wonderful job. They'll do a few different poses and take tons of pics in each. You'll definately have a hard time picking the ones you want. If you have a qualifying order you even get the disc of all the pics they take and you can share them over the internet or even reprint on website printer (kodakgallery or snapfish). I've used them a few times and love them!! You'll be really pleased, and they print same day, but don't look like they came out of a printer like Sears does.

I used Lollipop Portraits. They come to you home. She has a trailer she pulls behind her. Her stuff is really unique.
Check her out on www.lollipopportraits.com and you can see some of her gallery.

We went to Portrait Innovations for the first time a few months ago. We had a great experience. We took group and individual shots of all 3 kids (5 yrs, 3 yrs, and 2 weeks) and they took 105 pictures in about 25 minutes, many of which were good. They use a handheld camera so are able to move around and work with the child rather than force the child to sit still, look here and smile. The prices were very reasonable, and with the quantity that we got that day they included for free 5 10x14s (some with effects like B&W, etc) a CD-ROM icluding all 105 shots from the day, six baby announcement cards, and a one sheet calendar with all the months on the right and one of the group pictures on the left. My husband always dreaded picture day, and now says we are never going anywhere else again.

I have used Kiddie Kandids for all pictures up until my son turned two (five months ago). At that point, a friend recommended Portrait Innovations. I love them. My son was definitely being two that day and was not very cooperative, but I walked out of there with good pictures. They were so patient and they took tons of pictures so I had some good ones in with all the terrible two ones! :) They put it on this big screen for you to review at the end, not like Kiddie Kandid, where the resolution is not as sharp.
