Good Fiction Adult Novels

Hi Bonni,
while I was pregnant I read a great book! The name was The Mistress of Spices and it was by a author named Chitra Divakaruni. She also wrote another novel in addition to some poetry books that are amazing! I would refer these books to anyone. They are so beautifully written with a complexity that keeps you hooked through the entire book!
Let me know if you read them. I would love to hear what other people think!

Well I don't read any adult fiction books but I guess they call them self help books. I read books on marriage and general family relationships. Those interest me because I have a desire to help those in need and they give me a lot of insight and ideas. I hope that helped some.

It is very difficult to think of a book that does not have any of the things you listed... but here are a few books I recently enjoyed.

Angels & Demons by Dan Brown
I Do (But I Don't) by Cara Lockwood
Perfect Partners by Jayne Ann Krentz
The Nanny Diaries by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus

There are others but I seem to have forgotten the titles at the moment. I find books by going to my library and wandering through the fiction section. Any title or author's name that catches my eye, I check it out. Once I find an author I like, I tend to go back and get other books they have written. Something else I have done is I pick a book (or author) according to each letter of the alphabet. Because I read a lot and generally get 5-10 books every other week, I use multiple letters. For example, the first week, the Title or Authors last (or you can do first name)name had to start with A, B, or C. After I returned those books, the title or authors name had to start with D, E, or F. It was just a way to select books or Authors that maybe I would normally not have picked.

I am not currently working, but know I will soon. I debate about returning to my career or trying a new one. I recently read a book called What should I do with my life? by Po Bronson (I'm not sure that is the correct author.) It revealed many personal stories of people's desire to change their career and how they went about it. I really liked the variety of circumstances and the way it was written. I have recommend it to many friends. Did I meet the challege?

The book I am recommending is actually non-fiction. It is called The White City and it is about Chicago and the worlds fair. It was very interesting and read more like a novel than non-fiction.

I have recommended it to several other people who have also enjoyed it!
