Good Breakfast Place to Go with Kids

Hello! I am a huge fan of The Original Pancake House and have been going there for years with my husband. However, even with your name on the call-ahead list the wait tends to be long when you have kids with. Ideas for yummy breakfast places in town? We live in Bloomington, so someplace within 15-20 minutes or so would be great. Thanks!

What can I do next?

We like the St. Clair Broiler in St. Paul. It's on Snelling and St. Clair, right near the McCalester campus. It's very family friendly, and they have a kids' menu.

IKEA has .99cent breakfast and free coffee before 10am daily. If you get there after 10am, nothing on the menu is more than $4.00 a plate. They have a great selection of food and pasteries, and their Swedish pancakes w/ lingon berries are really good too. It's very kid friendly...there's a kid menu that includes jarred baby food, etc. and there's even a little play area in the cafe, with a counter/bar where parents can still eat while watching their kids play while they eat at tiny kid tables. They also have really great dinners and luch too. For menu etc. go to he web site..I think it's www.ikea.com. Besure to go to the store locater and click on Twin Cities/Bloomington or you won't find the cafe & restaurant info.

It can be crowded, but there is seldom a wait since the cafe can handle ALOT of people.

We like Old Country Buffet they have breakfast on the weekends if you go early enough it's not crowded and the selection is great.

How about Qcumbers in Edina (off of 494/France). They have brunch buffets, which are always great for the little ones.
