Get a Second Opinion on Thyroid?

This happened to my best friend. She had her family doctor run tests two years in a row and it always came back negative. She was convinced she had an issue and although she has always been happy with her family doctor she found an endocrinologist. He ran a more detailed series of tests and discovered her to have hypothyroidism. He told her she has probably had it since the birth of her son (13 years ago). She was so relieved to know that all the odd things happening to her had a real source and were not just in her mind. I would get a second opinion.

Definitely get a 2nd opinion. There are 3 thyroid tests, and 1 may come back positive after 2 have come back negative.

Even if it's not your thyroid, something is not right. Your doc shouldn't dismiss it.

If you really like your doc and trust him, go back to him and just insist on more testing to find out what's wrong. If he dismisses you, find someone who will not.

I had, what I thought were, thyroid related issues similiar to what you've described May of this year. My OB sent me to an Endocrenologist and they ran $800 worth of blood tests, etc. I was Vitamin D deficient! I changed multi-vitamins, and started taking extra 600i.u. Vitamin D and things are much better.
