Our 14 month old daughter is walking now and LOVES to explore. Will you please suggest some places we can take her to play, explore and learn. (I think this is probably a basic question for most of you, but being new to this mommy stuff, I could really use some advice.) We live in Murphy, Texas.
Have a FABULOUS day and THANK YOU in advance!
T.

We used to spend a lot of time at the different mall play areas. They are free and air conditioned!!! My little ones always had fun and the floors are soft in case of falls. Our favorites are Galleria, Valley View, and Willow Bend. Collin Creek is good, but it is a little small and can get pretty crowded. Stonebridge was just remodeled and we haven't been yet, but I am sure it will be nice.

Hi T.,

There is not much indoors for toddlers around the Murphy area (I live in Wylie). The City of Sachse has a great music/dance class for toddlers, it's worth the drive once a week.

Go to www.cityofsachse.com it's under parks and recreation.

Best of Luck!

Hi. My kids have always enjoyed the Children's Museum at Valley View mall and Clubhouse for Kids in Plano. Both are clean with a lot of activities for children. They have different activities like grocery shopping, dress up, art corner and the like. Have you ever attended a Gymboree type place? There are many gym type places for small children. It's a nice way to help them with coordination and you'll meet other people. Good luck.

I have a 14 month old and live in Murphy, too! I'm looking forward to the responses you get because my daughter is wanting to climb and expolre EVERYTHING. I tried McDonalds the other day to get out of the heat, but she's still a little young for that and I also don't want to get in a fast food habit. My neighbor mentioned a bounce house place in Wylie. I'll check it out and let you know!

I'm not sure what's out in Murphy, but I suggest joining a moms group. The ones I am in are always scheduling fun activities at different kid friendly places. Check out www.meetup.com The fall will be a perfect time of year to get out too... toddlers love harvest festivals, pumpkin patches, etc. Find local parks, mall play areas, the swimming pool, etc. Try classes such as Little Gym or Gymboree, etc. Most libraries have great story times for little ones. Just remember that just about anything, anywhere will be fun for her at this age. My son is 20 months and most of this year he gets excited just to go to the store with me!
