My daughter had the same problem except her palms were sweaty too. She had a hard time wearing flip flops...she is only seven. Her pediatrician gave her a presription for Drysol. The first two weeks I put it on her palms and bottom of her feet at bedtime...she can't touch anything for 30 minutes and then I put socks and mittens on her so the Drysol does not rub off. You wash it off in the morning. After the first two weeks, I put it on her 2 to 3 times a week. It is AMAZING!!! She does not sweat anymore! It was sad before we used it because she would not hold hands, go on the monkey bars, etc. I am a big fan of this medicine. I hope this helps! Good luck.

If you can stand how it feels, stick the fuzzy soft side of velcro onto the tops of the slippery sandals to give you some traction.

Dear C.:

I used to have your problem. My leather shoes would be ruined with salty perspiration stains and my feet sweated PROFUSELY. Strangly enough, when I had my toenails treated for a fungal infection, the perspiration stopped. The problem stopped until I had a very mild case of athletes foot and then my feet began to perspire again. I have found that treatment with an antifungal cream like Lotrimin works for me. Powders and antiperspirants didn't seem to work at all. Good Luck!

Check with your doc. I have always been a sweater, but it seemed worse after I had kids - I thought it was stress - she perscribed Drysol. LIFE SAVER!! I wish I knew about it earlier.

Try some talc powder instead of regular powder it tends to absorb mositure better also, soaking with tea is a good suggestion, I think I saw that on Oprah with Dr. Oz.

I also saw this product that might help, I am not promoting anything, I just ran across it and thought it may help.

Bromi-Talc Plus, Effective for the treatment of excessive sweating and bad odor associated with sweaty feet. Gordon Lab's Bromi Talc is a powder that combines alum with bentonite and talcum to help prevent excess sweating and odor of the feet.

Soak your feet in tea for 30 min. a day. After a couple of weeks you can probably do every other day. Don't forget to paint your toenails first or it will stain them.

Unfortunately, it sounds as if you have "hyperhydrosis". I have this condition on my hands AND feet, so consider yourself fortunate to only be struggling with this issue on your feet! I really have no suggestions to offer. Nothing works to prevent this issue from happening. It's a hereditary condition so there isn't much that can be done about it. Surf the internet for further information! I've heard Botox can be utilized for temporary relief.

C.,

Talk to your Dr. There are products for excessive sweating and he/she will be your best bet for answers. Your Dr. will also have answers as to why you have this problem.

I saw a special on Oprah with Dr. Oz. He suggests soaking your feet in tea. I bet you could find the specifics online if you did a search. It is suppose to really work. Good luck!

It could be hyperhydrosis and there are some new meds & treatments that help the problem.

You might talk to your regular doc or a dermatologist if it gets too bothersome.

My husband has suffered with this problem for a long time. While visiting the doctor on an unrelated matter, he was asked if he had thought about using anti-perspirant on his feet. Of course, he hadn't, but has been since. It has to be fragrance free. It has made such a difference! His feet are so much more comfortable, and they are not smelly at all. I hope this helps.

Hi C.. I also have problems with sweaty feet and hands. It's called hyperhydrosis. For me it started as just claminess when I was a kid to awful sweating as an adult to where I couldn't wear sandals either. But for me, as I got older it also started in my hands. So it got to the point where I couldn't even shake peoples hands. And it would be like this even in the winter. I had tried everything from soaking, to powders to prescribed roll-ons and nothing worked. I finally went to my dermatologist and he put me on a very low dose of a medicine called Robinul. It has worked wonders for me. This one tiny pill a day has been a life saver to me. I can now wear whatever shoe I want and not have to worry about slipping out of them, sliding forward or even sideways. And I can now shake peoples hands with confidence. I would definitely go see your dermatologist.

you can find ALUM POWDER at drug stores. It shrinks sweat glands, at least according to my dad. It's the same kind of powder groomers use when they cut pets nails too short because it stops the bleeding by shrinking the tissue.

Try some tea for your feet. This is an old home remedy that really works, I use it. Brew some tea, it doesn't matter on the brand. Let it cool and pour it in a basin or bin, soak your feet for 30 minutes. Repeat this once to twice a week. You will see that your feet will not sweat as much as before. Tea slows down the sweat glands in your feet. Over time it last longer.

I used to do African dance which is done barefoot but I would always stick to the floor due to the same issue. My friend had a small bottle of tea tree oil in her purse and she told me to rub some on me feet. It helped a lot. Find some tea tree oil at beauty supply or "natural" grocery stores.

I saw a sock-like product at walmart the other day that might work for you. The best way I can describe it is a half-sock. It basically just wraps around part of your foot and leaves your heal and toes exposed. They had several different styles so you could wear them with peep toe shoes etc...
