Hello ladies!
So Father's Day is coming up and I was wondering what you usually do or what the kids do! I like to have my girls make Daddy a card and them let them pick out something just from them, this year they want to get him a Detroit TIgers Pillow Pet!! haha, a couple years ago he got a batman figurine!
Anyway, it's kinda fun when the kids are little. I was thinking this year about getting a ton of water balloons and having a big water balloon fight as a family!
How about you?!!

What can I do next?

Going to 6 flags with our 19 yr olds. They haven't been with us since they were little. Now we can ride all the big rides and not have to stop at every bathroom. It should be a blast.

That's 11 days away....WAAAAAAY too early and I've been way too crazy-busy to even think about it! I will pull the required rabbit from the hat in time, I'm sure! (It usually involves golf and some clothing.)

We are taking my husband out for an all day picnic at this pretty area nearby. A couple friends are coming also with their son. There is a shallow stream the kids can explore and we adults are rock climbing all day. I can't wait!!!! I have not been rock climbing in a long time. We'll bring lots of food and a picnic blanket and chairs and a tent for the kids to hide out in. We will also bring our son's fishing pole.

Same thing we did for Mother's Day - picnic at the local drive in theater! It's so much fun and my son gets to stay up past bed time. Our theater does a double feature for 9 bucks/adult 5 for kids OR 14 for a car load on Tuesdays! - the first is typically more family friendly and the second is more adult. Not sure what will be playing but that's our plan - our son falls asleep about half way thru the first one in the back of the truck with his pillow pet fort and transitions to the car seat around 2am just fine :)

Jeremy had back surgery and is doing awesome considering, but is still uncomfortable doing a lot of things, so that puts a lot of restrictions on what we can do for Father's Day. I wanted to let him do guy stuff (that he loves) with the family like camping, a day at the beach, a picnic, stuff like that. I was also considering buying some time at an indoor shooting range because it'd be fun for him, but no to all those things for the rest of the summer. Boo!

Last night, I had to break down and straight out ask "I know you can't do a lot of the normal stuff we'd do...I was thinking about getting a handgun for Father's Day, and would you like to go to the pool, go fishing, have a day alone, or have a date night? It's your day...what' do you want?" and he thought the gun would be awesome but wants to go to the range and try them out before purchasing one......and he can't do that right now.

SO instead, I'm going to sneak the kids out of the house so he can sleep in (which in our house, 7:30 is a late sleep in), then when he wakes we'll all go have breakfast at the English pub, and then when we get home we'll give him his gifts: a homemade pop-up card from the kids, a note from me, a nice 3 part frame that will have one picture of him with our oldest son, a "daddy" poem in the middle, and then a picture of him with our youngest son, and a stereo he found: the first "toy" I've seen him excited about in ages. We're going to the swimming pool to play as a family, and then a friend of mine is babysitting the boys so that we can go on a date to an "adult" restaurant and to watch a movie he has been waiting for. We do sitter swapping; I'm watching her sons so they can have a date this weekend, since her husband works on Father's Day weekend, so that works out well.

Not sure what we will do. We will go to church either at ours or my brothers. Will probably go out the VA cemetery and visit my dads grave and then spend the rest of the day with my husband and our boys.
