My daughter's ear lobe is smaller than the other one. We pierced her ears in December 2010. She hasn't worn earrings now for 4 months due to her ear lobes are growing and the hole on the smaller ear lobe is up higher than the other earring hole. Her ear lobes have grown and the smaller ear lobe looks close to the size of the other one now. We want to repierce her ears. Any help in knowing where to pierce the lobe so that they'll be even while she continues to grow She's 10 yrs. old. Thanks

What can I do next?

I am not really sure about the placement, but I had my ears repierced when I was an adult and they are pretty much in the same place as the original ones from when I was 5. However, they cross at some point inside the hole and if I am rushed I find myself trying to push the ear rings out of where the old hole was in the back and OUCH! that is not fun because it is grown over. Just make sure you take her to a real piercing place instead of a small store in the mall, they will probably do a better job and have more knowledge about growth and things.

Hmmm, I had my ears pierced at birth and I had my daughter's pierced when she was three weeks old. Neither she or I have had any issues - that said, our ears were pierced by pediatricians so you might look into that. Also, people's ears tend to be uneven - mine are and I always have issues with sunglasses, LOL - so don't worry if they are not perfectly centered. I would look into having a pediatrician pierce her ears, though. I know she's older but I feel it's safer. Good luck!

If her ear lobes are even now, then re-pierce them evenly. But I would wait to re-pierce. Wait until the old piercing is fully healed up. I had mine pierced at 5, and they are now very slightly uneven. But nobody can tell.

Wow, I never thought of this as an issue. I had mine done when I was 13 and they were fine but maybe I just got lucky?

You won't know if her lobes will ever even out, many don't, many do.

You can always get little clip on earring posts and just replace earrings hooks she likes with them.
