Cat problem...help!

Here's the deal. I am a die hard animal lover, so, as you can imagine, many people knowing this have dumped their cats on me. Problem is, is that I now have 11 cats roaming my property! I take good care of them, and all of them are very sociable and fixed, but I have to do something. I am going to be moving soon and there is no way I can bring 11 cats with me. I am sick over this because, although they are mostly outdoor cats (I do own 4 of my own) I can't just abandon them. I have tried every rescue group I can think, and, of course, cats are a dime a dozen. I have been their only caretaker for a while now (some as long as 6 years) and, during the cold months, I even housed them in my basement. They come in all colors and one is even a muted calico, and one a russian blue. If anyone is interested at all, or can offer any advice, please let me know. Oh, and when they were in my basement, they had no issues using a litterbox. Like I mentioned, they are used to be outdoors, as well as inside. Most of them are 2+ years old and the oldest, I think, is about 7 or 8. They are used to my 2 dogs and adore my daughter, so they have no issues with kids or other animals.

What can I do next?

you know you can take the cats to the humane society and tell them that they are all stray's if you have not got them any shots or anything. and it will cost about 15.00 a cat. and then the cats that you have got shots for you can take them to the humane society and surrender them with there records for about45.00 i had to surrender a kitty a few months back :(

M.,

Where are you? I might be able to adopt one, depending on distance. We have a barn, and one of our barn cats passed away about a month ago.

I wished I could take them all!!! But, I have two of my own and one of them has ruined my carpet/furniture..Anyway, my advise to you is a place called Kitten Krazy. They take all stray animal's and shelter them until someone wants to adpot them. That is where I got one of my cats from. They are excellent with cats. I have posted there information for you below. Good luck. I'm a huge cat lover and wished I could take them. Kitten Krazy

You could post ads for free on Petfinder.com and craigslist.org (under the pets section). That may help you find homes for some of them. Craigslist is a great free site, because it can be totally anonymous. The site will forward any e-mails to your personal e-mail box without you having to list your information. That decreases your spam and hopefully decreases the number of "weirdos" that contact you.

If you are in the Northern KY area we might be able to adopt a couple of your kitties. We have a small farm and can always use some good mousers around. All of us love pets (myself, my hubby, and our 3 kids) and currently have outdoor pets: 2 dogs, 5 rabbits, 2 cats, 4 kittens, and indoor pets: 1 dog and 2 cats. The more the merrier! You can email me at ____@____.com if you are interested.
