Can Someone W/their Tubes Tie Still Get Pregnet??

Well my son's father & I split up for 2 months & are now trying to work things out. He did meet someone & he broke it off w/her but of course now she is saying she is pregnant! She told him she had her tubes tied so of course no protection was used!! Well now she just had the blood test saying positive but its more then likly in her tubes so the docs will just clean her out or something in those terms. IS THIS POSSIBLE!!!!!

What can I do next?

Hi M.,

Unfortunately, it is true. In fact, one of the "side affects" patients are made aware of IS pregnancy. It happens infrequently, but the tubes find their way back together, so to speak, which therefore reopens the path to the eggs.

I hope everything works out for everyone!

I agree 100% with Tova.

Make sure you are doing what is right for you and your baby.

Yes..the doctor's can only tie those tubes so tight.
As far as him not using protection, the pregnancy should be the least of your worries. When you sleep with him, you are sleeping with anyone SHE'S ever slept with too. If she didn't use protection with him, she didn't use it with anyone else.

Cases like this are not umcommon when the "other women" claims to be pregnant to get the guy back. Ask to see the doctor's report and go to the appointments with her.

Or...cut them both loose and call it a day.

Hi M.,
It is very rare that a tubal ligation is unsuccessful, but in a tiny percentage of cases (one in so many thousand), this is the case. However, it is also just as possible that this woman never had her tubes tied at all and just tells her boyfriends this, or that she is not really pregnant at all, and lying to try to keep a boyfriend who doesn't want to be with her anymore.
Good luck at working on your relationship.

yes, this is possible. One of my friends had 8 children & decided to get her tubes burnt & tied. However, she became pregagant with twins. Remember nothing is 100%.

M., I was told it's possible to get pregnant with tubes tied and I even heard that it's possible to get pregnant with tubes cut and tied. I read some of the advice you were receiving here and some things caught my attention. I would be very, very cautious about that man you are working things out with. I can't say what you can or cannot do about this but I would say be cautious because he sounds ify to me to keep. If you broke up again, he'll do it again? Does he really love you? He broke up with you and broke up with her and back with you and will he do that again, break up with you and go with someone else and break up with that one and back to you? For the sake of your son and yourself, you may want to watch your steps with man, please be careful. Also, don't be angry with that girl since she may not thought it was possible to get pregnant, she may be or she may not be, only she knows the actual truth besides God knows. If she is, it's a dangerous thing on her part and also, it's not healthy for her and the baby to be in that situation and she may have thought she loved him not knowing who he really is like. Perhaps, can you have compassion for her...?

I have heard of that but it is a very small part of a %. It also depends on how long ago her tubes were tied. Ali

Hi M., To the best of my knowledge you cannot get pregnant after your tubes are tied. I have had mine done for 25 years. I think you should get to the root of this accusation or story. The woman may be trying to hold on to him with this. I never heard of a faulty tube tying. Best wishes, Grandma Mary
