I am 28 and I have 3 kids. My husband and I thought since we had our two boys and our girl we were done but now I am rethinking it but I need answers. My question is since I had my tubes cut and burned and on top of that had an endometrial ablation done, can I ever get pregnant again? I really want another baby.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I'm still new to this site. And thank you for your response. I just would like to know if its at all possible because I get my hopes up all the time.

Thanks...I had my ablation done in 06. So I should just make an appt w my ob and will they be able to tell me if my uterine lining has grown back? I know I'm asking some dumb questions lol

Wow thanks for all the responses. I have a lot to think about and I really appreciate it that you took time out to answer it the best you could for me.

If you cannot get pregnant again and you really want a baby, please discuss adoption with your hubby!

You can reverse a tubal but it can be pricey and 28 there is no rush.

But you cannot "undo" ablation. Sometimes your uterine lining grows back quickly and healthy within 3-5 years and sometimes longer or not at all. Your OB GYN will have clearly asked before performing the procedure "Are you done?" because they cannot guarantee your fertility afterward.

I found this explanation (re: ablation) on webmd:

"Although this surgery usually causes sterility by destroying the lining of the uterus, pregnancy may still be possible if a small part of the endometrium is left in place. This can lead to severe pregnancy problems."

It sounds like you might be able to conceive and have implant, however if there isn't enough viable uterine tissue, it might not be able to support a placenta or nourish the fetus. Talk it through with your doc... Hugs, Good luck!

I believe they can reverse it... I'd call and ask the doctor that performed the procedure.

Best route to go is to call your OB get an appt. let them know what your considering if it can be done & what the risks are involved the reversal healing how long it takes to be completely healed before ttc & if you do are you able to carry to term without further harm & then after pregnancy baby born in the future can you have your tubes tied again...There the ones who will give you the "real answers" to all your questions
