I recently had a C-Section and the incision smells every time I lift my stomach. I have healed with no infection, but for some reason no matter how much I wash and dry there it still has an odor. Is there anything I can use or put there that will get rid of the smell?
I would definitely NOT use anything such as a feminine powder or spray.
I had the same issue and what seemed to help me was:
1. Washing it with soap and water and blow drying it on COOL (no heat) until completely dry AND
2. Folding some of those non-stick TELFA pads up in such a way and putting them over the incision so that that they kind of keep the skin folds from touching.
It's just from being sweaty! You can always use cornstarch, which should not irritate your skin in any way.

I have the same problem. I would try powder or feminine deodorant spray.
oh i remember that, i don't remember being able to do anything but just to make sure you keep it dry. But don't try wiping at it too much you can make the area raw.
I agree with Carol. After bathing, use the hair dryer on the cool setting to dry the area. MY OB/GYN suggested a maxi-pad with the pad part over that area to help keep it dry. The moisture and possible leakage from the incision causes the smell. It will go away!
