Buying a Swimsuit in Winter

My daughter was born in April and we didn't buy her a swimsuit this year because she was just too small to fit in it this summer (she was 2 months preemie and only about 6 lbs this summer). Anyway, we are going to Florida in December and now i need a swimsuit for her and can't find one anywhere, not even online. I am just looking for a regular swimsuit, not the whole sun protection suit or UV thing. We already have that covered. Anyone have any ideas or stores that they know of I can find a swimsuit at online now that doesn't cost a fortune? She will be 8 months at the time but she's pretty small. Right now she's only 12.5 lbs.

What can I do next?

Landsend.com - Go to the "overstock" button in the right corner, and pull down the infant swimwear. They are quality suits and you will get a great deal right now.

Ok, she is a baby ... why not just put on some little swimmers and call it a day?

Lands End starts at 2T which is probably way too big for her.
Swim diaper and a cute T-shirt maybe?

Babies R us has rash guard shirts in 3-6 mos, 12 mos, etc. Maybe that with a swim diaper?

I would plan on just buying it when you get there. Inconvenient but otherwise, I don't have great ideas. You could try Achildscloset.com - expensive but I would be they are on sale right now.

I agree with little swimmers - plus a onesie - and you are good to go! :-)

If you are going somewhere that requires a "suit" (though I'd call ahead and see if the above will be ok under the circumstances) - try EBay - look for the abbreviation - NWT (new with tags) if you want to avoid 'used'. :-)

I'd just go with a swim diaper and a t-shirt at her age.

I agree that you could find one in Florida or a local resale shop is also an option.

Wait to buy one in Florida...they usually have them anywhere you could potentially enter the beach.

Disney Store sometimes has their suits on sale in the winter (on line) but you'll have to look, it's usually slim pickins! I would go into like Gap or Carter's or something and see if they have any that they put on sale but moved to the back room. I used to work retail and sometimes if stuff didn't sell and it was out of season we just moved it out of the way. Sometimes though we had to ship it all out, so you just don't know, but it's worth asking about! There may be some stores selling suits in December, but Cruise season is usually Jan and Feb so maybe not.

As Dana mentioned, you know you'll be able to find one there, so if nothing else works out at least you have that option!

you don't have to put her in swimsuit though..you could do a little tank romper or sundress..i bet she's the cutest thing ever..my niece was a preemie..my sister had trouble with certain dress situations..don't stress..enjoy your vacation!!
