Swimming Pool and My 5 Mo Old
Hi ladies! I want to take my little guy who is 5 mo to the pool but can't find swim diapers or swim suit of any sort for that young. Am I the only one who wants to put my baby in the kiddie pool? Do you have any ideas?
So What Happened?™
Thanks you so very much for your help!! I looked at Walmart but couldn't find anything small enough so I'll look online or may try looking for the reusable diaper. Again thanks so much!

Hi L.,
I've been taking my daughter swimming since she was 5 weeks old. She's 11 months now and I found that the easiest way to take her when she was so little was to put a diaper on then the swim diaper over it. The diaper won't get gooey It just fills with water but I've never had a problem.
I hope this helps!

Huggies makes swim pull-ups- they are great!
Swim suit should be no problem to find- Target - Walmart - Kohls - or even old navy should have something..
Oh I just saw that you said - 5 months old- I was thinking year. Not sure what to tell you there for the diapers- plastic pants over the diaper might be a good idea?

We used the Lil Swimmers swim diapers. When my kids were infants we used the extra small (my kids are tiny) All of my kids had infant swim suits (3-6 months size) I know Gap carries infant and Kohls usually does too. you might want to go online. There is a catalog and online store called Bodens I know they carry infant suits, and I am pretty sure Lands End does as well. I know with my youngest I had a terrible time finding her an infant suit I think because Target and Walmart usually do not carry infant suits. I hope this helps.

Reusable swim diapers are GREAT! Something like this:
http://www.cottonbabies.com/product_info.php?cPath=114&am...
is one you can put on your child, throw in the washer, and use again the next time you go to the kiddie pool. The sizes start at 1mo and they also make an XL that fits my toddler. So much better than having to buy and re-buy and re-buy the expensive disposables.

They have pull up type underware for little ones called "Little Swimmers". I don't know if they make them small enough for your little guy or not. You could put a disposable diaper on him with a pair of rubber pants on over that then put a white onsie on him.
