So What Happened?

Hello Ladies
just wanted to give you an update on my break out face, and also give thanks for all the recommendations on the products that would help me out. I finally found the products that are right for my face by doing a skin evaluation on neutrogenas website and I have been using those products since I posted this and I have seen some really great results with a clearer non dry healthier looking skin on my face I still break out from time to time but thats ok because now that I do a daily routine by cleaninsg my face I see fewer break outs and that makes me so happy because my makeup looks good and my skin looks good without the makeup also I am so much happier with my face than I was before all this now I will hopefully one day not have any more break outs....
again thank you

If you don't want to spend the money on Mary Kay, Arbonne or Pro-Active I use Nuetrogena Acne Stress control or something liket that. i use the foam wash and the toner, twice a day and it works. I still have the occasional breakouts around my period but usually my face is pretty clear.

Hi S.,

Personally, I'm looking forward to reading the responses to your request. Since having my second child, I have break-outs on my face, too. Not a lot; not like a teenager going through puberty; but enough that I want to do something.

Pro-Active has been highly recommended to me by numerous people as well as the Arbonne line of products. And, I also checked with my OB. Depending on when these break-outs occur (mine happen to be about a week before my period and extend through the period week), if you are on the pill, it could be a side effect of the pill. My OB offered to start trying new pills to see what happens, but since that is the only negative side effect for me, I like the pill otherwise, and my break-outs aren't horrendous, I've decided not to switch pills at this point. I have also noticed that if I am particularly stressed out during this same time period, the break-outs are worse.

So here are my three suggestions: Pro-Active, Arbonne, changing your pill (if applicable).

Good luck to you. I never had this problem as I was growing up. It first arrived when I was pregnant with #2, and simply has declined, but not completely gone away since she was born 2 years ago.

I know it can be rather pricey, but I love the Mary Kay facial line. It is the only thing that helps with the constant blackheads I get on my nose. Just like you, I have tried everything else I could find but that was all that has helped with me having very sensitive skin and also having adverse reactions to a lot of different over the counter things. I am not sure if there is a direct website for them or not but you could certainly check and see if you can find it. Good luck!

Hi S.
My friend Ann Marie had terrible acne until she started nutritional supplements. Something in her body was off balance.
She has been on this program for 15 years now and has very youthful clear skin.
Love to share.

A number of products have been recommended, but I have to say I agree with Joanne. It's important to balance your body from within, not just apply products to the outside! I would go with a great supplement, ideally liquid (since pills aren't absorbed very well and you waste your money), and definitely balanced and synergistic. I've stopped all my breakouts since being on Reliv products, and I've had other health benefits that definitely make it worth the price. The company provides such incredible support that you get a lot of help to find just the right thing for you.

Hi,
I have a great product that's based on botanical ingredients, so it's a lot better for you then some of the other alternatives. It's Arbonnes Clear Avantage product. They make a face wash, toner, and even a spot treatment. And have a 45 day money back guarantee. You can check it out at https://www.arbonne.com/shop_online/showCatalog.asp?categ...

Also, think about what you're washing your hair with. Whatever you're using on your hair does come down on to your face during the shower, and when you're sleeping, so you want to make sure there's not a lot of harsh chemicals in that. And then make sure you're changing your pillow case every 2-3 days. All the dry skin from your face each night stays on your pillow case, so it's to your benefit to have a few extra pillow cases in the bedroom to change out often.

Arbonne is a botanically based skin care company that's been around for 29 years. They have a lot of great things that could help you take care of your skin. Let me know if you'd like to see a sampling. I'd be happy to come show you.

Thanks!

Sometimes complexion problems are due to lack of protein. Be sure you are eating a source of protein at each meal--particularly if you are a vegetarian.

Dear S.,
I recommend Proactive, I really do. After trying so many products, this is the one that eliminated zits and tightened my pores. But, it bleaches towels and clothes. My acne reached to my chest too, and after a while I noticed my shirts getting bleached in the collar and chest area from the lotion. So let it dry first. And if your skin is dry, go slowly, using just a little of the product to start. Good luck.

Hi there,

Have you tried Pro-Activ? I've had bad skin all my life & it really works for me (been using it about 10 years now). Also make sure you use a good oil-free moisturizer (Pro Activ has one, but there are other good ones over-the counter too), I've found that my skin is oilier when dry. Good Luck!

hi S.,
I've been dealing with acne since my teenage years and have been on many medications, both oral and surface. one dermatologist told me to throw all products away and use Sensitive Skin Dove Bar Soap and nothing else. it doesn't take too long for your skin to adjust and if you have patience, you should see results. it's very mild and provides just enough moisture to balance out your skin. give it a try and hopefully it'll work for you as it has been perfect for me for many years now. if not, see a dermatologist. I no longer spend extra money on other face cleaning products and even though I will get the occasional pimple, I've learned to be patient and not pick, bacteria on your fingers and under your nails will only spread the problem and possibly cause an infection.

also, drink more water, this has been helpful for me.

GOOD LUCK!!
