So What Happened?

From my research and the responses I have decided to look for a Doctor that is affiliated with the baptist Hospital. Thank you so much for the help!
I prefer a woman OB and am now wondering if anyone has any suggestions for this, as finding a woman Doctor can sometimes be more difficult.

Congratulations!!!!!!!!! MY obgyn is Dr. Michelle Starke and the best hospital is South Miami Hospital. I delivered both times there with Dr. Starke. I hightly recommend her, she is very caring. Good luck.

HI H.,
I have had a really good experience with Baptist Hospital, but I heard that South Miami is really good too. Although Mercy has awesome lactation classes, I have heard not so good things about birthing at Mercy.
Hope this helps and good luck!

Hi "New to the Area", My first advice is WATCH OUT. I came here 3 years ago, also new to the area, and found out in the worst way that the doctors here have a 50% c-section rate, which as a first time mom, I didn't know. It's not better for you or your baby, and increased your chances of uterine rupture with further pregnancies. DO go to prenatal yoga plus, the doula yogi who teaches it has been around here for 20-30 years. She is a wealth of knowledge. DO see multiple obgyns and ask them what they believe about how long labor should take, and what % of their patients are sectioned. DO consider doctors that are less prone to sectioning you UNNECESSARILY like Dr. Maurico Bitran, Dr Ronald Sancetta & perhaps Dr Salih Yassin. Good luck hunnie. I was blindsided when I got here, and not prepared for doctors that make decisions based on convenience and worry about hospital lawsuits rather than the actual status of the fetus and the mom.

I just recently delivered at South Miami Hospital and had an excellent experience. Nursing staff was wonderful, rooms were all private and nice, and even the food was good.
My Dr. was Dr. Sureen Chi at South Miami Ob/Gyn (www.southmiamiobgyn.com), but I saw nearly all of the Dr.'s in the practice and liked all of them.
I would highly recommend all of the above.
Good Luck.

Hi H.,

I gave birth to my first child in March of 2007 in Baptist Hospital and it was a great experience. They were great with me and my son, the doctors nurses everyone were so helpful.

My OB/GYN is female but she works with 2 male doctors, and they all 3 see you as a patient, in case for some reason there any issues, they all know you. they are really really Great, if you can deal with the male OB/GYN's! They really are wonderful - i was a little hesitant at first but they came very HIGHLY recommended.

Her name is Dr. Senimar, and she works with Dr's Geoffrey and Jason James. They are all excellent doctors - ###-###-#### 7800 SW 87th Ave, A-120, Miami, FL 33173. This is the James' Doctors office.

Oh and you can feel free to contact Baptist Hospital directly. They will work to help you find exactly what you are looking for - they are great at providing very insightful information!!!

Good luck with your beautiful family, and god bless. I hope your experience is as great as mine was!!
