It is an old one but great - Abs of Steel. If you get Buns of Steel too you will feel like someone beat you up - in a good way.
Well, I'm trying to get in better shape for the summer season. I'm unable to do the gym thing so I'm doing the best I can from home. I'm doing the Crunch Fat Burning Pilates DVD but I need a few more to change things up a bit. What are some of your favorite dvds that you've really gotten results with?
Thanks so much!!
Thank you to all of the moms who sent me their suggestions for work out dvd! I went with the 30 Day Shred and all I can say is WOW!! My muscles are definitely feeling it but the most awesome thing about this dvd is that it's a 20 MINUTE WORKOUT!! So, thanks again. May possibly be looking forward to swimsuit season this year.

Hi K.-
I have never used workout videos much, but the last few weeks our basement was getting finished and I lost access to our treadmill, so I got Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred and I'm not sure I'll go back to my treadmill now! It's totally awesome. 3 levels, just 20 minute workouts each, but she kicks your butt and my abs have never looked better! Good luck!
Hi K., I use the Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds videos for cardio and she has several to pinpoint areas. You can buy some of the videos at Wal-Mart, but she has a lot more on her web-site. They are low impact, but you'll work up a sweat!
K.,
30 Day Shred with Jillian Michaels is fabulous.
She's challenging and motivational. Her DVD is good for all levels...there are 3 workouts, starting from beginner to advanced. But don't think that the beginner one is too easy and skip it! Plus it's something your really can do in your living room with a minimum amount of stuff (you'll need a pair of hand weights).
After that: P90X. But that's for AFTER the 30 day shred.
Me: Right after baby: 151lbs. Less than one year later: 135. Now: (kids are 6 and 7) 120.
Of course, you don't HAVE to do the DVD thing. Honestly, most of my training wasn't via DVD (I'm military, single parent, and just have no time!!!). Start with walking. Ship the older kids off to school in the morning, break out the stroller, and walk. Start with a brisk 30 minute walk every morning. If it's cold, bundle up baby with lots of blankets and sweaters. You'll be shocked by how good it makes you feel...and by how fast the weight drops off.
Good luck!!!
I second the notion for Billy Blanks; he helped me take off all my baby weight. But the Biggest Loser Boot Camp and Biggest Loser Power Sculpt are great too. You can customize your workout, so it can last anywhere from 10 minutes to 55 minutes, you decide. The results are great too.
Hi, K.,
I would agree with the Leslie Sansone videos. I've done the 1 mi. walk which is about 16 minutes and works up a sweat. It's walking in place, knee lifts, kickbacks (kicking your butt), kicking in front and side steps. She also incorporates your arms in the workout. I got another video that has a 2 mile walk with strength training w/a stretchy band worked in plus a second part that is the 1 hr, 4 mile walk (wow). The 4 mile walk is the same moves as the 1 mi and two mile so you aren't doing any crazy stuff, but you work your but off.
Another video my hubby got me was from Women's health magazine called "Total workout in Ten" It's tough.
Good luck and have fun.

They have great videos and lots of support.
Leslie Sansones in home walking video. I know it doesn't sound challenging. Try it and see if you can make it to the end.
Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred is great!
Just about anything by Kathy Smith. She's the best!
I love love love my core rythms workout. If you like to dance at all you will love it. They have quick workouts and full workouts depending on what kind of time frame you have to work with.
The Billy Blanks Bootcamp series is a lot of fun and a great workout!
Good Morning, K.. What my DIL & I have really enjoy and have fun with ( can't tell you the name as they are at her home) is a Belly Dancing DVD & A Salsa DVD. Both are great work outs and loads of fun.. The Salsa one had several different dances on it. The Belly dancing is like 5, 20 minute work outs. One per day.
God Bless and I hope you get the results you desire,
K. Nana of 5
I bought the Sweatin to the Oldies for, myself as a stocking stuffer .. It's fun and I love it. RS is a hoot, a little weird but fun.
