Favorite Workout Video?

Hi!
I'm interested in trying to exercise in my home instead of purchasing an expensive gym membership.
What are your favorite aerobic work out videos? Something moderate to high impact.
Thanks!

What can I do next?

My daughter got a Zumba video that she plays on the Wii. She loves it. Any of my friends who have tried Zumba seem to love it. I haven't tried it yet myself, but I might give it a shot when the kids are gone and there is no one to laugh at me!

I've gone through phases where I've liked Turbo Jam and Tae Bo. I've also liked Kathy Smith's Aerobox Workout. But usually when I want an aerobic workout, I just hop on an exercise bike. I can watch TV or read while I'm doing it, and I enjoy being able to multitask.

My all-time favorite work out video is called Cher Fitness - A New Attitude. Yes, Cher. Cher Bono. Don't laugh :)

This tape was made in 1991. Cher is in the video, but an Australian trainer is leading the class. There are three sections - aerobic, abs, and lower body. I only do the abs (10 min) and lower body (30 min). It is only available on VHS tape (so sad), but recently found that a blessed saint posted the entire tape on youtube in 10 or 11 parts! The lower body section starts around part 8.

I LOVE this video for the following reasons:

1) It emphasizes strength training, which is the best way to lose and maintain weight by building muscle and stabilizing metabolism.

2) It is TOUGH. I've been doing this tape off and on for 15 years and it never gets easy. My pet peeve with workout tapes is that they cater to the lowest common fitness level and I get bored quickly. This tape, instead, sets the bar very high so that you always have something to reach towards.

3) There is emphasis on proper form and technique. Proper form and technique leads to more effective and efficient exercise, and minimizes injury. Plus it provides a great foundation when trying other workouts.

4) The workout pulls influences from traditional strength training, pilates, and step (all of my favorite things). As I have progressed in pilates in the last 6 years, I have noticed that the video incorporates pure pilates moves and form. Remember, this video was made in 1991 and was really ahead of its time.

5) Although this workout can be adapted to include free weights for more of a challenge, it is designed to require NO equipment. And because it uses the body's weight to create resistance you can vary the movement to make it easier or harder. I even did this workout throughout my pregnancy, varying the workout as my body changed.

I agree with Jay D that the 30 day shred is an awesome workout. I was in decent shape when I started and it kicked my but. However I had to stop after about 2 wks because it was way too hard on my knees. I could not walk up or down the stairs without clinging to the railing:(. Now I do not do a video per say but the game Dance Dance Revolution. I love it and was able to loose 30 lbs doing it about 6 years ago.
