My husband and I want to take the kids to the beach this summer. What are some of the ones that everyone prefers? We are looking to go after July 4th and are looking to go to Florida or the Texas coast with calm waves since the kids are younger...TIA!
For sure Sandestin, FL. Beautiful white sand beaches, VERY kid friendly, and beautiful oceans.
Did you end up going to Sandestin? My husband and I are thinking of going this summer but are confused on where to stay.
We went to Destin Florida last summer with our 5 and 2 year old and 6 mo old and loved it. We will definitely go again and again. The beaches are beautiful white sand, crystal clear blue water, calm waves and the whole area is extremely family friendly. We rented a house at Vacation Rental By Owner and it was great.
I know as kids my parents would take us to Virgina Beach. I think because it's in the gulf it's not too bad on the waves at the right time of the day. I haven't been in a long time, it's also a big Navy area, so if you are into that or not, might make the choice for you too.

great beaches- white sand...
We go to SanDestin FL. We stay at the Hilton Golf Resort and Spa. It is in a gated area, VERY worth it.
It is not far from shopping and the wharf. Great family place.
As a couple.......our favorite is South Beach in Miami. NOT kid friendly.....very adult oriented but a LOT of fun.
