Baby Trend Sit-‘n-Stand Stroller

Hello Mama's!

I am expecting my third baby in a few weeks. I have a 3 year old boy (well - he's 3 1/2) and a 22 month old boy all ready. With my first two, I purchased a side by side "walking" stroller for neighbor hood walks, zoo trips, exercise, etc. It's been great and I have loved having it. My 3 year old was 20 months when #2 was born, but I never needed a stroller to put the car seat in because my older son was the perfect listener (at that age) and would always stay right beside me while we walked in and out of stores, in and out of ECFE, etc.

Well, now that I am thinking about what it will be like to move the 3 of them in and out of school (we are at ECFE 3 days a week), in and out of stores, and around the neighborhood on short walks, I am pretty sure I need a more negotiable stroller than the big old double one that I have now.

I am thinking about getting the Baby Trend Sit-‘n-Stand Stroller, and am looking for some reviews. Do any of you have this stroller? I have looked at the Joovy, but it is more expensive and I'm not sure what the benefits would be for the added cost.

Your thoughts - as always, are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

J.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thanks for the advice everyone! And, thanks to MamaSource Sarah for offering to sell me her used Sit and Stand! :)
I think it will be great for getting us in and out of school this winter, which is the main time that I will need it, and it was perfect that I was able to get a great used one from one of my fellow Mamasource mom's. Come spring, my older son will be 4 and I expect he'll be walking most of the time, and I can use my side by side walker again for zoo trips and neighborhood walks.

Thanks again!
Jessica

I don't know about the sit and stands but I have a baby trend jogger that I can not even walk fast with. Every time I start walking a little bit fast the front wheel starts wobbling. I don't know if it is just mine or if it is all of them but be carful.

We have a sit n stand and love it. It does get alittle harder to manuver the heavier the kids get, but I can still manuver with a 35 lb 2yo and 45 lb 4 yo. We have brought it to the state fair, to the mall, to the zoo and have not had any problems with it. I think it is easy to fold up and fits in the trunk just fine. We haven't had much trouble with napping in the front, as my little one uses the canopy for a "pillow" and doesn't need to lay back totally. I am VERY excited to switch my 2nd to the back and get it ready for the new baby in the front. So either I really like it, or I am easily amused :)

I did months of research, literally months, to try to find a stroller that I would be happy with for my big kid and baby that would be small enough to bring anywhere. I purchased the Peg Perego Pliko P3, it works with car seats and has a toddler board for standing. The little guy sits in front and the 3 year old stands and rides. It is awesome when you are places like the Zoo where she wants to explore but ride to the next location and also does not seem rediculous when you only have one child riding in it like my double stroller did, so it will work until my little guy does not want to be in a stroller. I almost feel I want to keep my awesome find a secret but my sister has a sit and stand and wishes she had what I have. It is more money but worth every penny, great for stores, for walks, for the airport, and just running in somewhere when you dont want to have to carry a baby and try to hold onto hands at the same time. I found mine online on clearance, last years model.

We have that stroller andi love it. We didn't use a babyseat with it because I bought it after my son was out of his babyseat. Never had any problems with it and my daughter liked it because riding in the back gave her some "freedom".

Hi,

We have that stroller (actually, we have the one with the double stroller feature that converts to the sit n stand). We've been happy with it. A friend of ours with a regular BOB double stroller says the sit n stand doesn't manuever nearly as well as the BOB, but I like the front-back configuration and haven't really had any issues (maybe I just don't have anything to compare it to). My daugther (2.5), also likes being able to stand up, etc. I'm trying to think of any other drawbacks . . . the basket is a little hard to put things in; there isn't a snack tray for the bigger kid; it's not the lightest stroller in the world (but, it is a double). It's easy to fold.

All in all, we've been very happy with ours. Hope this helps!

We have the sit n stand stroller and we like it. It it a bit big, but considering you have two kids in it, what wouldn't be? I have a 11 month old and 3 1/2 year old and we've had it since #2 was born. It has worked for all stages so far.

Hi,

Congrats on the baby. I own the sit and stand (Baby Trend). I actually found one at Target for 75% off. Anyway, I love it. My 2 kids are 14 months apart so I started out with the double stroller and then when my son got a little over 2 I purchased the sit and stand. They are now 3 and 2 and I love it. It's easy to push compared to the double stroller and love that my son can sit, stand and get out on his own in the back, but my daugther is strapped in the front (she is wild!) It's definetly made life easier and I would recommend it. Good luck.

Hi J., I just went through the purchasing of a double stroller, I have a 3 year old boy and 3 month old baby. I looked at the higher cost strollers and ended up getting the Sit 'n Stand Elite Stroller from One Step Ahead. It's great and it suits our needs perfectly. The great thing is that the infant car seat carrier clicks right in and can be strapped in for extra safety. Which is perfect until the baby is old enough to sit up in the seat. My 3 year old loves it and on walks he can get out and run and come back and hop on. It's got a padded bench seat w/safety straps for sitting and also the safety strap when standing. I love it. It's about $150.00. The only problem at all is if James, the 3 yr, gets tired enough to fall asleep there is no real comfy place to lay back. That is only a drawback if we are out in it for a very long time (fairs, festivals) The basket on the bottom is huge and fits a couple small bags of groceries. The color scheme is attractive as well. Good luck. There are a million to choose from and I know the higher priced are so tempting. I think this is very high quality and One Step Ahead is a great company that makes quality products.
