If I understand what your saying, your are living with a man without the benefit of commitment, who feels because he is "supporting" everyone, can come and go as he pleases. Rather then go on "strike" and make a bad situation worse, tell your man what YOU need and let him know if there's no future for the two of you, you will take your children and go home where people (family) love you and your kids.

I was laid of from my scientific sales position after 13 years in February, half of the company was as well. I immediately made job hunting my FULL TIME + job even though I had money in the bank and a great severance package. I was successful in finding a better position because I worked at it seven days a week (researching companies, working with recruiters, interviewing, following up, doing everything I could). It took me seven weeks to receive the best job offer I have ever had and I accepted. I think you will really be successful to work at it all the time while taking care of the children as well (that's always my job too).
