Anyone Know Where I Can Sell a HUGE Thomas the Tank Engine Set?

I have this HUGE set of wooden Thomas tracks and characters and haven't the foggiest where I could sell it and get a good price. My 7 year old has outgrown it and, as some of you know, these sets cost a pretty penny and I don't want to just throw it out at a garage sale. We are new to the area so any tips would be appreciated.

What can I do next?

There's always Craig's List (www.craigslist.org) But the local secondhand stores for kid stuff are Mother Goose on Riverside Blvd. in Land Park, or Once Upon a Child (several locations) The secondhand stores will give you 25% of what the items are new in the store today.

Ebay is your best bet. Just set a baseline price, so you don't get a lot less than you're looking for, or sell off parts of it at a time.

Have you tried craigslist? One man's trash is another man's treasure... especially on craigslist! :)

Try Craigslist.com. You can select the metro area you want to sell it in and best of all, it's free. We've sold tons of baby things on this site. Be sure to post a picture of everything, because that will really help with the sale. Only downside is about 1/2 the people who express interest and schedule times to come by to buy things will flake. So, don't take down the posting until it's out-the-door sold.

Hi C.,

You can sell anything for FREE on www.craigslist.com. Make sure you are on the sacramento site, go to for sale - baby and kids. Make sure you create an account before you post your items. You can post anything without creating an account, but then you have no controll over your posting and it expires after 7 days and disappears. If you have an account you can re-post it if it doesn't sell right away. Be sure to include pictures! A lot of people wont even look at the add without pictures. This is an awsome way to sell all of your old kid stuff and other stuff.

An alternative is to take it all to Once Upon A Child and see if they will buy it. They wont give you as much as you could get on your own, but it may be simpler if you are near one of their stores.

Hope this helps.

I sell a lot of things on Craigslist (www.sacramento.craigslist.org). Ebay is another option, but the shipping may not make it worth it to the buyer, so you may not get as good of a price.
