Anyone Know About NovaSure Endometrial Ablation
I'm looking at having the endometrial ablation, NovaSure, performed. Does anyone have any experience or know of someone who has experience with it? I'm curious about the cons. The pros sound astounding. Thanks for your input.
So What Happened?™
Thanks for your input. I'm grateful to have you women to turn to. This is such a great site with great feedback. I'm looking closer and closer at having the ablation. I'm 40 and we just had our last baby and had my tubes tied in November. My hormones are better in the last several years than they have ever been in my life, and I really want to stay clear of any hormone intervention. If there are any women who have had complications down the road from this, I'd really, really love to hear from you. I also feel reassured hearing from those who have had good experiences. Thanks again for all of your feedback!!!!

I had the procedure performed 10-12 years ago along with additional procedures at the same time. My down time was only 3 days and back to normal. I had to wear pads for one month and no cycle since. It is wonderful!! I am thankful to be rid of all of the cycle problems and complications I had for most of my life.
Most women do not know of this treatment/option. From what I remember, my ob/gyn had not performed many at the time.
Several years later, my sister had a hysterectomy and had limitations for 3-4 weeks following before she was back to normal.

Hi L.,
I had this procedure done about 1 1/2 ago. It has been awesome and I have had no problems at all. If you are not planning to have children, then I highly recommend it.

I had it done almost two years ago. Have never had a moment of trouble so far. I had already had a myomectomy over 10 years ago. This was a piece of cake compared to that.

Hi L., There was an article in medscape within the last few weeks regarding ablation, stating that the procedure increases the chance of eventual hysterectomy by a significant amount. You might be able to find the exact details by searching their site. Good luck.
