I am having trouble picking out a gift for both my son and my boyfriend! Its funny they both ADORE superheros! But have alot of super hero stuff! And I'd like to get them something nice, and from the heart. Any ideas for a 4yr old? How about an addited online game, comic, history and art loving super hero? lol

What can I do next?

I am a photographer as well.

They have a great idea, but if your kid is like mine, he is sick of the camera. LOL Mine don't readily pose for me. Most people wonder why we don't have pictures of our kids--we do. We have 5 of them looking at the camera and 500 of them running. LOL

I like their idea. But what about something like a Lego thing or other type of model they can build? My boys loved anything they could build. We bought Legos for just a little above their level, then we read the directions with them and did it together. We also bought those 3D puzzles and everyone liked those. It may depend on how your boys like building things so the puzzles may or may not be a hit. But legos went well for any age and any personality. ;-)

Another idea may be to get a dress up outfit. LOL My boys at 4 were starting to get into the dressing thing. They would put on capes, swords, helmets, etc. and pretend for hours. They just loved wearing the outfits. I am not sure how that could apply to a big guy, but the 4 yr old will love it. ;-)

I was thinking the same thing as the last comment, in that you are a photographer, what about putting together a book for them with pictures of them and telling them why they are your superheros! THey would love it and it would be so personal. I have made books for my kids about why I love them and the wonderful things that they do. They love it. I even made my four year old a book that he learned to read from using our own personal family pictures... Anyway lots of possibilities.

I'm a consultant and help others make personalized books as well if you want more information you can go to www.storybooker.com

But with your photographic skills you could make a really cool personalized gift of some sort...even a poster or something like that as well...

I'm scared of toys this Christmas that are made from China, and I bet a lot of the superhero stuff comes from China. Be vigilant about watching labels this year. Can you find a cute superhero blanket or bedding set? Also, superhero clothing and shoes are nice for 4 year olds....maybe for boyfriends too.

Maybe a Spiderman Moonwalk for the party? A Rental starts at about $120. If you're interested, I work for a moonwalk company and we could help you out.

You mentioned that you are a full-time photographer. Why not put your talents to use! Put each of them in action poses, situations or even film a little movie. I think they would love that and it would definitely be personal.
