Any Good Family Dentists in Rolling Meadows/Arlington Heights/Schaumburg?

I am in search of a family dentist that will see both my husband and I as well as my 3 year old and 16 month old. My kids have not been to a dentist yet (their pediatrician said 3-4 is a good age to bring them) so I need one who will be really good with them and talk to them and not scare them.

Also I am a bit concerned, my 16 month old has some faint browning on the top of a couple of her teeth (up near the gum) that brushing does not remove. I have brushed her teeth twice daily since her first tooth at 4 months. It has always been a fight with her though, she has always hated it, and I kind of worry about how well they are getting brushed with the struggle she puts up. Any suggestions on what this could be? My biggest fear is cavaties, and if thats the case I would feel so guilty about that even though I do the best I can with the struggle.

Thanks so much!

I am so happy with our family dentist. Her name is Dr. Katherine Klock. She is located at 1300 E. Central Rd. in Arlington Heights. Her number is ###-###-####. Her receptionist, Kathy, her assistant, Jan, and her dental hygentist, Cindy, are so nice, too. You really feel welcomed in her office. Dr. Klock has been wonderful with us. One evening, I had emergency tooth issue and she stayed there and waited until I could leave work. She started seeing my twins, when they were 3 years old. We've thankfully have only had to do check ups for them so far. She speaks to kids in a a sweet, caring way and takes her time explaining what she is doing in their mouth. She will let them go in the treasure chest and take a couple of prizes. She will get a stuffed animal and a large (fun) toothbrush and brush the animal's teeth. The kids take a picture, after the check up, and it is displayed on her wall. I don't know the exact ages of her kids, but she has two kids herself that are under 10.
In general, I'm kinda of picky with things. So I have to feel completely satisfied to recommend someone or something, and with that in mind, I highly recommend you give Dr. Klock a try.

My family and I go to Dr. Kiriluk. He is wonderful. I took my now 3 1/2-year old daughter there when she was just about to turn 3 and she loved going! She thought it was fun. She's been one more time since then, and loved it as well. We just made sure that they knew it was her first visit, and everyone was great. My husband and I have also been really happy with our visits there too.

Dr Gary Balas is located in A.H. He is an EXCELLENT dentist. I have such an immense fear of the dentist, and he makes me so relaxed! He is absolutly wonderful! His staff have been with him for a long time, and even some of his old patients are now working for him. They are so kid friendly, and just an amazing bunch of people. I HIGHLY recommend you at least check him out!
Good luck, hope that you try him out.

Dr. Kakos in Arlington Heights is very good. Everyone in his office is extremely nice. He is a bit pricey though...I don't think he takes insurance. He said if he does, he's forced to not pay his staff what they're worth. I'm not sure if it's financially feasible for a family, though my husband & I really like him.
