Hello, I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with Etsy? I am a pretty crafty person, and would like to sell some stuff on there. Can anyone compare it to Ebay pros/cons. Thanks ladies.

I am not experienced with either BUT.... my 19 yr old daughter LOVES Etsy.

She has had some very positive experiences as well. She loves monogrammed things.

Back in June she ordered a custom Duvet and pillow case, custom for her dorm bed (Freshman in college). In July, we found out she would not be getting into the dorm due to shortage. She immediately contacted her Etsy person to relay this message. As luck would have it, she had just shipped the twin size custom set for the dorm BUT... she told us to take the pillow case out, ship it back to her at our expense, send $75 and she would redo it and add another pillowcase. Talk about a good experience!!! I think daughter happened on one in a million crafters because most people would just say so what and keep the money.

We ended up purchasing a condo for daughter and her Duvet cover is very nice. She has purchased monogrammed laptop case for her MacBook, back back, phone cases, small purse,

She has not had issues with anything else she ordered from Etsy. One request for Christmas is a gift card for Etsy!

Best wishes with your venture. PM me if you have some great stuff and I'll make sure daughter sees it!

Etsy is good but it is changing. It used to be that you could make anything and put it in your shop and sell it. Nowadays they're regulating what can be sold. I understand and support this decision a LOT. I can't see how these people went for so long putting celebrity pictures on clothes and football teams/colleges logo's on stuff and selling it. Truly, I think this part should have been shut down a lot time ago.

So depending on what you're making etsy could be the perfect home for you.

On ebay....I don't look at ebay all that much because it's just too much stuff.

I have a fiend that tried selling on both ebay and etsy. Because there is so many listing on ebay thngs get lost unless it's a big item. Crafts get lost a lot.
She's sold things on etsy. I have bought quite a few things from etsy. I love the site!
I think it would be worth a try.

I love Etsy! I have a small shop there. It's cheap and VERY easy to use/maintain. I sell most of my stuff in the "real" world so I don't make a lot of sales online, but when I do it works like a dream.
