Does anyone have any ideas on how to deal with ebay? - my account was suspended *hacked by someone else* - they say I was linked to a suspended user - NOT TRUE - I faxed all info they asked for to verifiy my identity - they give me canned responses and no relief. I contacted "Live Chat" in their Help page and was told it was beyond their scope to help me with this problem - they directed me to a link - I responded on that and get more automated responses. It's been 2 weeks and No income. I have paid them a lot of money every month for the last 2 and a half years to list my handmade baby stuff - . If you have ideas on how to deal with this (I don't live anywhere near San Jose so I can't go to their offices - I have started listing on Amazon.com and ebid.net but it takes a while to build up a reputation and mine on ebay was excellent. I would really like to resume selling on ebay - I don't think I would pay for a store, though - too much money invested to have the rug pulled out, so to speak. All ideas welcome. Thanks, Sandy

I have heard a lot of people are having a hard time with Ebay recently. My husband quit selling on there.
Have you heard of Etsy? www.etsy.com It is where people who make handmade products sell them. I have seen it on several sites that I visit. I believe it is gaining momentum as people are frustrated with Ebay.
Also you may want to contact some local baby stores in Royal Oak and Birmingham. You may be able to sell your goods there.
Personally, if I were selling as much as it sounds like you are, I would take some of that money I was paying in ebay fees and use it to hire someone to create a business website. You could even get it set up so you can still accept paypal.
What about an ebay store? They might be able to help solve your problem and if not maybe help sell your stuff? I think there is one in Oxford.
I'm sorry for your stress. I have no idea how to get this issue resolved with ebay...but I wanted to give you another site you can sell stuff on if you were interested. Have you heard of Craigslist.org or.com (they both work)? It's free to advertise and you can set it up for people to come to your house or if you belong to paypal (which I'm guessing you do) you can offer shipping and expand your customer base. Good luck with the ebay situation.

Businesses often brush off the troubles of one customer...that is, until you become one LOUD customer. Call your local news station and ask that they do a story on your experience. Call the newspaper and request an article be written. If ebay won't listen, perhaps they will when their reputation is at stake! Tell as many people as you can...LOUDLY!

I sell some of my handmade stuff on Etsy and some of my clothes on Ebay. Etsy is a much better market for handmade things! And since Etsy is a marketplace for all things handmade, it may be a much better fit for your products than Ebay, which sells EVERYTHING. I am a self-proclaimed Etsy addict, and I love the idea of buying handmade stuff. In fact, I buy most of my gifts from Etsy (and spend way too much time browsing the site). I also think that selling your stuff to boutiques is a great idea, but if you're limited on funds and don't live near ROyal Oak, Birmingham, etc, an online shop (such as one you can set up on Etsy) is the way to go.
