Does anyone know of a good place to go, such as a cabin or lodge or whatever, for an anniversary? Last year my husband and I went to the blue ridge mountains and were not as happy as we hoped with the accomadations.

What can I do next?

My husband and I take "mini vacations" several times a year, rent a cabin and enjoy the scenery and time with each other. One area we love is Highlands/Cashiers, N.C. in the Smoky Mountains. It takes about 2 1/2 hours to drive there, and there are great trails to walk/hike and great restaurants.
We have also used "Vacation Rentals By Owner" (a website) to preview the cabin, availability, pricing, etc. and book directly with the owner(s). The benefit is that we've been able to ask any questions that were important.
Congratulations on your anniversary, and have a wonderful time together!

Hi H.,

Happy Anniversary! I would suggest checking out www.vrbo.com - it is vacation rentals by owner. You can find condos and homes to rent just about anywhere! Savannah is a great place, too, for a getaway! I have rented several places through VRBO and never been disappointed. If you want to go the hotel route, a great website is www.igoyougo.com. It compares rates over several travel websites.

Good luck and hope you have a great vacation for your anniversary!

Happy Anniversary! We just went to this resort called Brasstown Valley 2 weeks ago for our anniversary. I loved it, the on site restaurant has great views and fabulous food. But the town is very close by too if you want to try local restaurants. The only thing is make sure you request a room that has some privacy (we had VERY noisy neighbors and ended up changing rooms). But the resort, the drive, the activities, the views, and the food are all phenomenal.

It was about 1 hr 45 minutes drive from Alpharetta.
