Anniversary Get Away
Hello Moms,
Any GREAT vacation spots? Last year my husband supprised me with a trip to Ft. Walton Beach, FL to a beautiful condo for our anniversary. It was a prefect spot because we took our 5 month old with us, but this year we are going sans baby. I want to plan something special. We work alot and this really is a time for us to connect and relax. So where is your favorite place? Just about anything goes. About a week, things to do, but could find quite time too. I am really looking forward to you imput! Thanks!!!

Kauai, Hawaii! It is a gorgeous, quiet garden island. I used to have a condo there and have been at least 6 times. It's one of those places that calls you back!
I also love Coast Rica. The Guanacosta region is amazing with its rainforests and volcano.
If you want a cooler climate, I like Banff in Canada. The two mountains and the quaint village at the base are very romantic!

The BEST place for a romantic getaway with no phones, no people, no interruptions is Rivers Edge Cottages in Oklahoma. From McKinney, it's probably a 4 hour drive, but I am telling you it is awesome! My DH and I have been there 3 times and have reservations for November for our 12th Anniversary. There aren't any phones, no TV, no internet. They have wonderful cabins for two, nice big romantic beds, jacuzzis for two, in the mountains, lots of trees. You can canoe, go bike riding, go hiking or go for a walk. But DH and I love the seclusion!

If you want a resort go to cheapcaribbean.com.
My wife and my favorite getaway is a cruise. Usually a cruise is cheaper than a resort and LOTS of fun. The cruise lines are hurting for business now and are offering GREAT deals. AND meals and onboard entertainment is included.
We have been on 17 cruises and will take our 18th in January 2012.
Good luck to you and yours.

One of our favorite getaway places is the Oregon Coast. We plan day trips ~ fishing, crabbing, kite flying on the beach, playing in the sand dunes, aquarium in Newport. You can find some romantic spots too like dinner on the beach watching the sunset, "quiet" time in the hotel room, horseback riding on the beach.

I vote for a cruise. You can drive to Galveston and cruise from there. Royal Caribbean and Carnival both go out of there. They're adding new ships soon and Princess Cruise Lines is coming in next year I think. You can cruise for 4 or 5 days if you only have a week.

Hubby and I are celebrating 25th anniversay on Aug. 23. We are going to San Antonio. We did a big family vacation to the Dominican in June so this is just a getaway for us. We are staying at the Hyatt Resort and Spa. This time of year, I tend to stay away from the Carribbean and coastal places because of hurricanes. I don't want to forfeit any deposits. Have you looked into a cruise? They have several that leave out of Galveston and several friends have gone on them and had a blast!!!. Congratulations!!!!!
