After Having Kids Did This Happen to You

Ok I have two kids and I still have very sore breast right before and after my period. Sometimes they feel full like they did when my milk was coming in. Just wondering if this has happened to you and what you do if anything. My doctor says it's normal and I looked it up yesterday and it pretty much said it's a hormone imbalance.

Mine have always been very tender right before, even before I had children. But not quite as sore as when I was breast feeding.

how about 30+ years of breast tenderness- before, during, & after my periods? Absolutely normal according to my doctors, my family, & friends. Now that I'm older, I do have to limit my caffeine intake...or they hurt like heck!

That has happened to me it mainly happens if you ever breastfed your child or children. Mine does that every once in awhile but it used to be every month. I breastfed though and thats why my doctor said that happened. It was a hormonal imbalance because once before when your body had that many hormones going at once you were pregnant and mainly in labor or breastfeeding.

That actually happened to me before I had kids. After I had them the breast soreness with pms went away.....weird. I totally agree that it is hormonal. But make sure you are not pregnant, because that was my first sign that I was pregnant with #2!

Mine are like that up to 8 days before I start & last until I start, sometimes a couple of days into. My youngest is nine & if anything it has gotten worse. They actually enlarge enough my regular bras fit tightly & have that "heavy / full" feeling. Very annoying! I try to laugh it off & think some women pay good money to go up a cup size...lol! Sometimes they hurt enough I think it wasn't this bad when I had my kids. I did not breastfeed. From what I've read it's your body producing milk to get ready for pregnancy, which my tubes are tied, but obviously my body does not know that. If you find a solution, let me know.

Good Morning S., Yes this is very normal in most women. I had a Hysti in 87 (our boys were 12 & 10) and mine stayed sore for about a month of so after getting my hormones leveled out. Even taking birth control my breasts would be sore before and after also.

I was on hormone replacements for several years after same thing. Now I take nothing and I don't have soreness at all.

So there is nothing to worry about as far as illness is concerned, just normal Women Stuff....lol

My G/F said she loved being on the hormone replacements cause she actually had boobs again...lol Didn't happen that way for me though... :((

Best of all the tomorrows for you and your family

I had this problem for many years. Try to limit your salt and caffeine intake during the month. That should help.

I still get that. I dont know about a hormone imbalance, as Im always moody no matter what (lol), but who knows, I could be hormonally imbalanced! Off the top of my head I would say its normal. I remember having this issue long before I ever got pregnant. I think its just a symptom of premenstrual syndrome. Not to say youre "PMSing" its just that everyone goes through some changes when theyre ready to begin their period, not just mood changes, but body changes too such as bloating. No fun, I know!!
