2Nd Row of Teeth

my middle son is 12 and will be going to the dentist on the 29th to have two teeth ''helped out" by the dentist. They are baby teeth and aren't ready to budge but the incisors/canines are in above them in the gumline already. Dentist said once the babies removed the perm ones should move down and into place better. Just take him to the dentist and have him evaluated to know whether it is a perm or baby tooth. and get a plan going.

How old is your son? My son was six and had a permanent tooth come in behind his baby tooth on the bottom (it was a bit loose but he was nice and slow about working on getting it out). I called his dentist and he said not to worry about it. When the baby tooth finally fell out it looked funny because the permanent tooth was so far back due to the lack of space. Just as the dentist said the new tooth moves forward right where it should be.

My hubby's little sis had this problem. She lacked whatever the enzyme or something was to break down the baby tooth root so they didn't fall out on their own...they had T. pulled. A dentist should be able to guide you in the right direction. As for him, just tell him he's part shark! lol...Good luck!

I had this experience with ME. I had two teeth come in right behind my front teeth on the top. My mom took me to a dentist when I was in the third grade. I recommend an othodontist, but my mom thought this guy would be better since he catered to children. Anyway, I ended up wearing retainers on my teeth for several years. Those teeth can be moved to their proper position. I feel that mine would have happene faster had I been put in braces rather than retainers for many, many years. Please take your child to an othodontist as soon as possible. He/she will be able to direct you on what route to take.

I had what was called a floater tooth, so did my mother and grandfather, it came in behind my front baby tooth and my dentist at the time told my mom that it was ok that it would push the baby tooth out. Well it did do that but it was not a perm. tooth another dentist had to pull it when I was about 9 as my perm. tooth came in in front of it and it was pushing my perm. tooth to were it was sticking out. Anyway it could be a perm. tooth or it may not be have your dentist check it out. Also mine did have a root but no nerves.

My son had this happen with some of his teeth. We took him to the dentist and they pulled out his baby teeth so the permanent ones could move into line with the others.

When mine did this the dentist refused to pull the baby tooth, saying the permenant one would push it out. It didn't happen exactly like that. My mother still says he should have pulled it. - - never have been able to afford braces. Maybe your son's case will be different.

my daughter's front teeth did this too-- They call it a sharks tooth and as the permenant one grows in more it will eventually knock the baby one out and then your sons tongue will eventually push it forward

My son did and when the baby tooth fell out the permanent tooth came on forward and is now in the correct place. The dentist even said it was fine and would correct itself and it soon did.
