Worst. Gas. Ever.

I tend to overshare so forgive me.

I stink. I seriously can't take the gas anymore. I feel bloated, uncomfortable, smelly, and my right side is often sore.

I eat a low fat, high protein diet. Plenty of fruits and vegetables, moderate amount of carbs. The only liquids I drink are water and black coffee. Maybe once a week a diet coke from McDonalda.

Is there anything I can eat, take to help? I do daycare from home so can relieve myself as needed. I'm not constipated.

For real...I can smell myself and it is embarrassing! Help!

What can I do next?

Gasex will help, but won't do anything for the smell.
Try taking some activated charcoal capsules.
They really help with smell issues.

You can take "gas relief" pills.
From the drugstore.
I had this, per my Doc. when I had had a c-section.
It helps a LOT.

Try your diet adjustment first, the the MD. I find raisins, dates, and packaged food like protein or fruit bar, energy drinks and "fake" food I got from Weight Watchers make me toxic. It's the weird chemicals mainly. My poor husband!

Probiotics. They will help regulate your gut, colon, and everything else.

Go into a vitamin or whole foods type of store. You'll want to get the probiotics from the refrigerated vitamin section. (More live cultures.) Eating yogurt that has live, active cultures will help, in addition. Make sure it doesn't have all the fake colors and ingredients, though. You want something as natural as possible Good luck!!

Fiber! You need more fiber in your diet! Get yourself a good fiber supplement. message me if you want a recommendation, and start slowly increasing to a higher amount of fiber daily. I think that could really help you.

However, you may have food allergies, and that can cause gas as well.

Try fiber!

There are alot of people saying fiber. However if you have a diet high in fiber you will also feel gassy. Try doing crunches, it helps me pop gas bubbles.

If you arent eating enough fiber it means that what you are eating is sitting in your intestines too long and is fermenting.
Add some fiber to your diet and if that doesnt help within a week or two, I'd talk to a doc. The pain may not be your gallbladder, it could be diverticulitis.. google it.

I have IBS and can't eat any fiber, no beans, no fresh fruit, no raw veggies, no dairy, no grease, no artificial sugar (I used to have a McD's diet coke problem). I was taking Prevaced and stool softeners daily.

I have since started "Eat to Live" and I'm eating beans, raw fruit and veggies and minimal gas. I no longer take the medication. If it's bad, might we worth checking into.

i feel your pain, honey. i have always been a gassy person but it got worse as i got older. i know cooked onions are the worst thing i can eat. eggs to - i am alergic and small quantities in baked goods just fills me like a hot air balloon.

the best relief i have found is accuflora pills from target. one in the morning and one at night. i hardly have any gas while i'm taking them. then i forget an it's back to normal. symithicone (sp?) is supposed to be good as well, but i can't find it near me.

btw, i had my gallbladder out last year and it has made 0% difference.

Do you eat any protein bars or any other kind of bar? these are terrible for me. Also dried fruit will cause it. I eat a ton of beans and have Beano before and it really helps but I don't know if it works for other sources.

You're not alone. I had the same problem and realized that I'm gluten and lactose intolerant. Eliminating those two things from your diet will require some research as most food in restaurants and grocery stores are laced with them. I would try eliminating certain foods and see what works. Diet pop and McDonalds are poison - stay away from them. Try taking probiotics. My diet has become very limited but it's worth it to not be bloated, uncomfortable and all the other side effects.

I think you really need to see a doctor and maybe a nutritionist. There might be some culprits in your diet, but gas and bloating that significant can be a sign of a medical conditon, some minor, some not so minor. I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), which is annoying, inconvenient and sometimes very painful, but otherwise not health-threatening. It is, however, diagnosed by eliminating other more serious conditions. You could have a food allergy or intolerance too. Even ovarian conditions can cause gas and bloating so I would make an appointment to see your physician.

As for your diet, how many and what types of fruits and vegetables do you eat? Obviously they are healthy, but certain fruits and vegetables and excess fiber can cause gas. How much black coffee? I LOVE my coffee, but too much caffeine is an intestinal irritant. What kind of protein? Protein digests very slowly which is why it provides long lasting energy, but certain types can digest too slowly and cause gas. I try to significantly limit my red meat consumption and soy protein bothers some people.

Good luck and I hope you get some relief soon!

Could be gluten but could just be dairy. I spent years feeling bloated, uncomfortable with lots of gas. Serious, someone could die gas. Took me forever to realize it was dairy - especially whey which is just about every thing - processed food or not. If you have pain with your bloating, that can be real sign. Start observing when you start to feel super full/super bloated because the gas with be the aftermath. You aren't always born with lactose intolerance. For me it probably started in my early twenties and was really bad by the time I was 30. My sister has the same issue and I know my dad must have had it, he was miserable for years. And before you invest in an cabinet of Lactaid (doesn't work if you have a serious intolerance), beano and gas-X (which is your only real hope when your doubled over in pain), just try eliminating it from your diet for a while and see if things ease up. Good luck figuring this out! I know it completely sucks.

Have you tried Beano? You can get it at the grocery or drug store. Take one before you eat and see if that helps.

My mom swore on Beano for my dad, bless his heart!
