Work FT or PT, Daycare or No Daycare, HELP!

Hi moms! I need advice, or help. I need a job. But would love to find a way to work from home if possible, as I don't have money to spend on new clothes for work etc, but have been searching for this forever now. Or need to find an evening type job. Can work PT if no daycare. If I have to put him in daycare then I'd have to work FT, but then I'd be paying for daycare, and really bringing home PT wages...does anyone feel this way? Daycare ate a ton of my FT check years ago. I just don't know what to do? But we cannot just live off my hubby's pay alone here. We're struggling so bad just to pay home phone, and utilities and rent and car payment, we have no cable, his mom pays for our one cell phone we have, we only have one car, I mean c'mon. We barely buy gorceries, and then don't buy great good-for-you-food, more just anything cheap that will fill our bellies. We don't rent movies let alone GO see movies, it's not like we throw our money away on "fun" things instead of paying our rent. But I have had a heck of a time finding a job out here, simply because I don't want waitressing, cashiering, or customer service? Been there done that. I'm willing to be a busser or dishwasher now at this point, just so I don't have to deal with customers anymore. How sad right? I just think it's horrible that just because I don't want to put my son in daycare, that I'm stuck with a mall retail job. But my hubby also has weird hours, that hasn't helped me in my search either. Can any of you relate, or am I out of my mind, and just need to settle on something? But I feel I should feel comfortable in my line of work, if I don't want to help customers anymore, why is that all I'm finding?? Sorry to rant so much, but I'm getting desperate here, but I guess not desperate enough or I would take a Taco Bell job...BUT.....HELP!!! I just need to hear someone else is going thru this maybe?? Thank you my dears!

What can I do next?

Don't want to burst your bubble but I think you have to decide what is more important. I too have look for part time work at home for a year. It is scary because most of them out there don't seem legit. I could have worked full time and as many out there, it would have gone mostly to childcare. So to make ends meet and to send my 3year old to a good preschool without breaking the bank, I am working 20-25 hours at Target, nights and weekends. Its important to us to not pay for childcare and to have extra money. I am now making half of what I was making full time,AND AS A CASHIER no less. But we'd rather not pay for childcare and have that money as little as it is. SO I feel your pain and hopefully all will work out in the end. Good Luck.

Another opportunity is retail but it's very flexible and they really need day time people. It's working at Lakeshore Learning. They cater to teachers so it's a nice environment to work in. Pay is lousy but it's really flexible so it can make sense if you can work when hubby can watch the kids. Anyhow, just a thought for you. The problem (other than low pay) is you don't get any discounts on product for a year!!@#$%#$## The store at Park Meadows is looking for help right now and they are in desperate need of daytime workers because the teachers who work there work evenings after school.

Keep your chin up. The rich are getting way richer and the poor/middle class are getting way poorer. You are not alone in this. Just please get involved in helping to make changes in our political climate. Not to sound patronizing, but this is for everyone out there who may need to hear this: Vote your conscience, not who your parents or husband votes for, and get your friends involved in making a difference too. Beware of political sound bites that just sound good on the surface. Get to know the political candidates, watch the debates, and make up your own mind. This is for all of those out there who are too busy to vote. I know it's hard, but times are really tough and we need everyone to participate. I am not telling you who to vote for. Just as long as you vote! Our children need to learn that our voice can be heard! Thanks for reading this!
