OK, my 23 month old daughter has been using the Tommee Tippee sippy cups Stage 1 (9oz). She's always asking for more milk, so I just bought her the Stage 2 (11oz) cups. Currently there is a promotion buy 1, 50% off the other. I don't think she needs 2 sets of stage 2. I would like to buy another set but I have no idea which would be best. Tommee Tippee has stage 3, stage 4 and stage 5. I have a feeling it's just a marketing gimmick. It's a personal choice which stage fits the child best, but since my daughter is not at the next stage yet, I am not sure which would be best to invest in. I really hate to buy something and let it go to waste.
So I am hoping other mamas out there using Tommee Tippee cups could help give me a suggestion if I should get the Stage 3 (straw cup), stage 4 (water bottle) or stage 5 (drinking cup)?

Not familiar with Tommee Tippee (my son is way past sippy cup stage!!!) but I loved the straw cups. Not sure about the water bottle, what that's like but I do remember the JOY I had when my son finally could open/close a screw on cap for a regular water bottle so I could hand him water in the back seat while I was driving!!! (I guess perhaps that would be because I didn't have the no-drip sippy cups!)

I am not sure about that particular brand, but I was told that for teeth development and other mouth development that straw cups, as soon as you can use them are better, I have no super expert advice other than straws are amazing....less mess, better on the enamel, and they force the mouth to pucker, sort of like when words are being pronounced. I would say go to stage 3, skip 4, because really, straws can be used at any age once they get the hang of it, and then you have regular drinking cups, so why buy stage 5? You can get small, kid sized cups at pretty much any store....wal-mart, target, the grocery, the dollar store, etc. I love the cups that are made just for the kids, but once they get to a certain age and can use pretty much anything, I am not sure it's worth the money to purchase the specific brands. Again, it completely may be worth it to buy them. But I would not worry about making sure you have each stage. Kids can go from bottles to sippee's to straw cups to regular cups, and 2 years old is perfect for straw cups.

Around the time my daughter was 12 months, I just went ahead and bought the stage 5 one (I think it is stage 5, the one for 24 month olds) figuring, why not? I think it's just a marketing ploy.
She's 18 months now, and we're starting to work on using a straw and drinking from a regular cup. It's messy for sure, but she'll get it eventually. We won't be buying any more sippee cups. We might continue to use the ones we have for travel and for the portability factor, but I think when possible, we'll just try to drink out of regular cups.

I don't know anything about Tommee Tippee, but I would think that at 23 months old, she should be able to use stage 2-5. No harm in buying a "higher" stage and giving it a try. If she isn't ready yet, she will just use it later!
I was looking at the Tommee Tippee, I believe Stage 5, I remember on the label it said for 24+ months. It didn't have a spout, but looked like a regular sippy cup. I ended up getting the Playtex version because it was almost the same, and the values fit the sippy cups I already had so they would be interchangable. I went with this cup because it was the closest to a regular cup and I plan on making the transition to a regular cup at the new year. For the record my daughter is 19 months. I use these cups for all liquids, but milk. She still takes her milk in a regular sippy cup. She loves her new cups and it took her a day to figure out the cup without a spout.
