Michaels! And you can make your own, which is the fun part. I made a weather board and am making felt cookies too. I like general ones that the kids can make up their own stories for, but maybe when your child is a bit older. Maybe a story that has versatile pieces. Michaels has felt boards, but maybe not in a story like you are looking for, though, but it sure is fun to make!

Well I've seen those magnet cases/books at walmart. They have different pages and have magnetic characters to put on them. They have a Cars book, Disney princesses etc. But if you're looking for felt boards...have you tired Desert Book? There are a religious book store so they lots of quiet toys for kids, things used to keep them entertained during church. So they might have them. They are online. Good luck!

I've always made my own-- wayyyy cheaper and you can customize them however you like. I made really huge ones when I taught preschool and have made smaller ones for my own kids.

The way I have made mine is to get a piece of plywood (or really heavy duty cardboard) and wrap it in flannel (I used solid color flannel sheets from a thrift store.) Pull it tight around the board and staple-gun it to the back of the board, working on opposite sides, then trimming and working carefully around the corners so there are no wrinkles.

For felt stories, you can copy things from coloring books or online coloring sheets and print, then either trace around the object and cut out of felt itself, OR just use the paper and glue a small square of felt to the back so that it will stick. I often use thin cardboard (like cereal box, etc) and glue pictures to that first, and then cut them out, so they are a bit sturdier.

I use large envelopes to organize my characters and other items. I have some that are specific to a story (Little Red Riding Hood, etc) and some that are seasonal, etc (Halloween, Mountain Scene, etc.)

My boards also work with any store-bought felt board items, and I have purchased pre-cut letters and numbers from teaching stores.
