Where Do You Lose Weight?

So I decided to buckle down and watch what I eat again. Within a few days my wedding rings are floating and spinning on my finger. Unfortunately no matter how much weight I lose I never see it in my stomach (until I put it back on and the smaller pants I bought don't fit!) So where are the odd places you notice your weight loss first?

What can I do next?

Breasts, hands, feet, ankles, butt. The last place for the weight to leave is always my stomach. Ugh.

My fingers and feet. This makes me so happy when my butt and thighs are feeling big and round, that my fingers look skinny and my shoes are a little looser. Wow! What a let down.

But that is the first place....so continue to keep exercising and watching your carbs and sugar and soon the weight will start coming off the other places.

My weightloss travels INWARD.

-feet & hands
- wrists & ankles
- forearms & calves
- face
- upper arms & thighs
- bum & breasts
- belly

I can *cheat* and lose inches on my belly by tightening the INTERIOR abdominals (not the sexy six pack, but the muscles that hold your organs in) by twisting twisting twisting with a broom handle over my shoulders (a couple hundred to a couple thousand per day... aka while watching TV). But the actual fat doesn't leave until dead last.

ALSO I lose weight in waves. It's layer 1 through the order above. Then I plateau for a month or two while my body resets "normal", then I repeat the cycle. Each cycle = apx 30lbs. I doubled my weight when preggers, so over the next couple years I got to watch the cycle repeat and repeat and repeat.

I can tell you where I dont lose weight..... my boobs! UGH For most women they would love this but being a H cup I hate it! Last year my goal was to lose weight, I lost 70lbs and guess what my bra size never changed!! Sometimes I think what you plan on getting smaller is what will give you the biggest challenge! I've heard cutting out white bread, pasta, all those yummy carbs we love really helps with the belly area! Also I think stress contributes to belly weight so maybe something relaxing like yoga will help and tone! Good luck!

Well that's the hard part. You can't target weight loss. You can target a certain area to tone but you have no control over where you will lose weight first. So I know this sounds harsh but you probably just need to keep losing in order to see results in your tummy. So say you lost 10 pounds (which is great) but notice you still have fat on your tummy then keep going maybe after another 5 or 10 pounds you will see results. As long as your not underweight and you are being healthy on how you lose your weight then go ahead and lose some more. For example I am a very thin person (after baby #2 I got down to 107 pounds) but before that I used to weigh around 115 which is still a good healthy weight for me but I always had that back fat that is right under your bra strap. I figured I would just never lose that but once I got down to 107 it was gone! I'm not saying you have to be that thin....depending on your height and age that might be underweight for you. But to get a flat tummy just keep trying to lose more and then do crunches to tone up.

My cheeks first, which is nice since then I can "see" it in the mirror (but I don't think I ever need to lose weight there), and before having kids I lost it in my chest dead last, but after having kids I lost around my love handles last, or not at all. I've still got those nasty deposits. Maybe the next year of breastfeeding will take care of it. I've always had fairly slender fingers and my wedding rings were size 5 3/4, but they were getting really loose and clanking on each other the last time I lost weight. It was kinda weird since I wouldn't have thought my fingers could or would "lose weight" either. I'll probably size them down when we're really finished having kids. :)

My feet.....it's weird. Also breasts, which hubby isn't too happy about ;) lol

I think though, that losing 'weight' on the feel and hands is more of a water retention thing than an actual fat thing.
