My husband and I are LAZY when it comes to working out. I need to gain weight and he needs to lose about 25lbs. Any suggestions on a routine that can ease us into it? Or do we just have to suffer and suck it up? Lol.

What can I do next?

Walking! It doesn't even seem like working out, you can do it together, and even someone as ungraceful as me can do it. :)

Got little ones, throw them in a stroller, got older ones drag them along. It is a game the whole family can play.

I would definitely suggest walking. Start out slow, and slowly increase to power walking, and then jogging. Go up and down stairs. Do squats, and pushups when your ready. For your husband I suggest he plays basketball, it is such a great workout! When I used to have a personal trainer we would play basketball (keep in mind I had never played it, nor know how to) or dribble and aim to shoot the ballin the hoop. The idea is to get moving!

I love to hate P90X but it works, you feel accomplished and can go into so many other things like... run 2 miles straight having never run before.

FYI: Walking burns the same calories as running. So don't feel discouraged if you walk. For a guy though, he'll probably like P90X even if the Yoga days seem girly, he'll get over it. I sweat more during Yoga days than my weight training days. Also, study suggest you lose more weight with 30 minutes of exercise vs. 60 minutes. Strange but true. They are still working that out because it's counter intuitive. You definitely lose double the calories but that loss doesn't turn into weight loss itself. So get moving and believe the "little" you do is worth it!!

I walk around 4 miles per day, and I just went back to taking ballet lessons. I'm sure your husband wouldn't be a fan of ballet, but you may really enjoy it! It's both cardio and strength/flexibility, so it's a wonderful all-around workout!

I saw a workout on a blog and I love it: Its called the 5-10-15-20 Workout

5 Pushups (I do 10 on my knees)
10 Box Jumps (Jump to four points 10 times)
15 Situps (I vary the ab moves throughout for a total tummy workout)
20 Squats (I vary this with deadlifts or lunges, etc throughout)

It takes about 25 minutes, tones your muscles and makes you sweat. Best of all, you can do it anywhere, even during commercials!

I do Pilates & Body Pump. I like them both. Pilates will definitely tone
you up & not cause weight loss ( u will just appear longer & leaner). Your husband could meet his 25#' weight loss goal, with Body Pump.
