I'm going for my first prenatal check up next Thurs. with midwife Linda Johnson she's part of Lovelace Womens hospital. I was just curious if any of you had been one of her patience, either as your midwife or the midwife that delivered your baby. Please tell me good and bad. Thanks

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Linda's great! I ended up choosing her b/c I needed someone who I could alway's see on a Thurs. b/c that's my hubbys (supposed to be) day off. And she's the only one that is always in the office on Thursdays. Very friendly and took plenty of time with me to go over my eventful past pregnancies...I'd reccomened her!

Have you used a midwife before? I have not seen very many good outcomes from a midwife. The just don't have the new high tech things that are available in the hospitals.

I had Dorothy Beach through Lovelace Women's Hospital, and she was an excellent midwife.
And to respond to the last comment, midwives are also often part of the hospital staff, as in this case, with all of the same resources, support, knowledge, etc.

I saw her a few times towards the end of my last pregnancy. And I have to say that I was not happy one bit. During my last trimester and about 3 weeks before my due date she started stripping my membranes. Of course at the time I had no clue what she was doing until my second visit and I ended up in the hospital and dialating. The doctor finally said that she should have never started stripping my membranes until I was closer to my due date. Hope this helps...
