Hi All,

I am thinking about moving soon, so I'm trying to responsibly give away or recycle items that my family doesn't use any more. My kids have numerous party favors (from many birthday parties)--that they never use. Any suggestions on what to do with these?

Thanks,
L

I give all that 'junk' to the teachers for their treasure boxes.

In the past I have saved them all up to put in my kids pinatas at their birthday parties. Since they don't do pinatas anymore I now take them to church and use them as Sunday school prizes.

I put them in ziplocs and sold them as grab bags at my next garage sale.

When my kids were little I used to collect all that stuff about once a year and drop it off at the nearest family homeless shelter or battered wives shelter. Often the kids have nothing, so any toy is appreciated. As soon as my kids were old enough, I took them with me to the drop off. It was a good lesson for them as well.
