Need some smarty pants to help me out here. My son wants to do a project for the science fair that entails him to take the temps of room temperature water, frozen water and refrigerated water. What kind of thermometer do I use? And where in the world would I get a thermometer that would measure frozen and cold temps? Yoohoo...anyone?
A basic digital probe thermometer available at any grocery store, Target or Wal-Mart. Mine is a TruTemp brand and it goes from -40 to 450 degrees.
I suggest a probe one that can be sat in the water that has a long cord with a separate readout

I'd suggest a digital probe thermometer. The kind used in commercial kitchens. Chefs and bakers usually carry them in their pockets to test for food-safe temperatures.
You can order one from Amazon, find it in any good kitchen store...and probably walmart in the kitchen tools section.
