Seriously would like to know why America voted him in. So many FB posts show such negative. What is good about his administration? What is bad? What does the real future hold for struggling middle class family?
Real stuff please, no hate comments, just honest true agenda.

A little late for this question.
I voted for Romney, but like I told my son this morning, Obama is the president for the next 4 years and we don't have to agree with him but we need to respect the office and realize that just a little over half the country voted him in and the other half wanted a change. It's time to move on.

1. At least 31 people in his Administration owe back takes (last tally was something like $831M
2. Lily Ledbetter Act - LMBO here - Obama pays the women in his administration 18% LESS than the men...the only things that "act" is good for? Lawyers and paper companies...
3. As he told the Prime Minister to Russia earlier this year - he's going to be be MORE flexible...hhhmmm with what?
4. No budget in 4 years.
5. Spent $6T in 4 years.

What does the future hold for the middle class family? More strife. More taxes..Joe Biden said it best - "the middle class has been buried the last 4 years" and under Obama - they will continue to be buried.
What the conservative rightwingers don't like about him is that he cares about middle America and those who have less. He already knows that the Americans who are financially well off (the 1%) are FINE. So these rightwingers like to call him a socialist. They also don't like that he doesn't come from your typical WASP background - his father was Kenyan with a different religion. Some STILL persist in calling him a Muslim and saying that he aligns himself with terrrorists, when he has given the order to take out SO MANY of these terrorists. It's absolutely disgusting to me that they say this stuff. They don't care what the truth is. They persist because they WANT it to be true.
Most of the FB posts you see that spew this hatred don't look for real facts, Viola. These folks grab on to sound bites and hateful rhetoric. They take stuff out of context. They subscribe our economic woes to one person, President Obama, when he inherited this mess of an economy that will take a LONG time to fix. The entire economic model was absolutely gutted and it will take a very long time for people to get back to the level that they were at, if EVER. And that's NOT President Obama's fault. They even blame him for doing what President Bush did, blasting him for using a stimulus package, act like TARP money dropped into a big hole, when it was a LOAN that banks had to pay a form of interest to the government on (preferred stock). Even the AIG bailout may end up making money for the taxpayers in the end - we'll see how it shakes out.
I really think that most of these people are just ignorant, either because they won't take the time and effort to really study what's true (like saying high gas prices are our president's fault), or it's all just a ploy to beat other people over the head (like calling us The United Socialist States of America.)
As far as the struggling middle class is concerned, they got decimated under President Bush's watch because the banks were allowed to gamble with billions of dollars of OUR money, and they lost. We nearly went into another Great Depression over it. It's even more precarious now than it was in the 1930's because the banking world is totally global now. We need teeth in our regulations to prevent the banks from doing it again. Romney doesn't believe in these regulations. President Obama does. Romney says that being a business man would make a good president. However, a business man who buys companies and guts them, laying off thousands of workers, isn't what makes a good president and isn't what helps the middle class. All it does is make the very wealthy even more wealthy. These same people who think somehow that this is okay, try to tell us that these wealthy people create jobs with all this money, but Viola, they really don't. They put that money in hedge funds, a lot of them overseas, and the hedge funds gamble on American companies. It is astonishing how they will short sell stock and drive the stock prices lower and lower, sometimes with the intent of putting a company out of business, just to make a lot of money. HOW on earth is that good for the company and the employees?
The middle class doesn't need this. You know what? The wealthy don't need it either. They already have plenty of money. Romney doesn't want to tax them. He would rather the burden of the deficit be placed on those without a lot of money.
These people who bark and bark like rabid dogs about doomsday in re-electing President Obama should be focusing more on the House of Representatives who have stopped at nothing to thwart ANY progress in getting work done. They should be screaming at THEM to put aside their own chance of re-election and do the job they were hired to do - help the American people. That means middle class America - not just wealthy America.

Oh Viola, where have you been? I am a self professed political junkie and even I am sick of defending the guy on this site. We've been around and around this topic on and off for months.
Most of my family's FB posts are overwhelmingly Pro-Obama, don't you get that it depends on who you're friends with as to what type of posts you get?
The single biggest reason I voted for the president is that his policies more closely align with my beliefs. I feel he is more likely to have my family's best interests in mind than the other candidate. Isn't that, generally speaking, why anyone votes for a particular candidate?
I am a lily-white, forty something SAHM from a upper class neighborhood, go figure.
I guess I would be considered a "conservative, right winger" but I will weigh in. I do not believe that he is a Muslim nor do I care if he is and I would not care if he was purple or blue. His race has nothing to do with anything for me. What worries me and why I did not vote for him is because I do not believe he knows how to fix things. Yes, he came into office with a mess but you don't fix things by spending more and adding to that debt. President Obama isn't for the middle class, he is for the poor. The rich in this country already pay far more than their share and I have a problem with people getting free phones while my husband and I struggle financially. My husband and I receive absolutely no assistance and work for what we have. I know there are some who have fallen on hard times and I do not want them to suffer but I also know there are able bodied people who take advantage of the systems that are in place. I was a branch manager at a job placement agency for ten years and actually had people turn down jobs because they were making more on unemployment. By increasing entitlements, it is creating a system where people don't want to work. President Obama believes government solves everything, I believe in smaller government. If you look at Europe, we are starting to implement the same policies and if its not working. As for claims that he is a socialist, please read "Dreams From My Father" by Barack Obama to understand his view and draw your own conclusions. I've been doing research on Obamacare and am not happy with many aspects of it. Why should contraceptives be free while my thyroid medication isn't covered? I can go on but I think it is very unfair to be labeled a racist or ignorant because you vote a certain way. I just hope and pray that both parties will put politics aside and do what it takes to make this country strong again economically.

As far as the future?
He is our president, not our overlord. His power is limited and he deserves neither full credit nor total blame for whatever "may" happen in the future. Anyone who places so much emphasis on one man clearly has no idea how a capitalist, free market democracy works.
my major issue with him is that he thinks we can spend our way out of debt. that has never worked for anyone, ever, in all of history.
if he really cared for the middle class, he would not be saddling our children into debt at the fastest rate in history.
he DOES NOT CARE about the middle class. he's never lived as a middle class person. he doesn't associate with middle class people. he's never even held a real job in his life or had to bring home the bacon for the family. the middle class are just another platform for him to conveniently gain more power.
the reason conservatives call him a socialist is because his actions are that of a socialist. taking from those who drive the economy and giving to those who choose not to contribute.

end of the day, i know who i voted for. thanks to FB, i know who everyone around me voted for. all i ask from them is that they keep their mouths shut for the next 4 years when they are tempted to complain about gasoline costing too much, groceries costing more, the company dumping their health insurance plan dumping them into an exhange, or their brothers having to fight WWIII when the Israel bombs Iran or visa versa. You created the mess, you live with it. I, however, can complain and blame them all i want.

OMG! Obama doesn't care about the middle class. What a joke!! He doesn't give a ____@____.com about the poor either. They are a means to an end. A pawn in the game. Throwing money at people so they will vote for you is called manipulation and bribery, not care and concern.
The rise in the cost of groceries since he took office hurts the poor and middle class. The rise in the price of gas since he took office hurts the poor and middle class. The rise in the cost of energy hurts the poor and the middle class. Higher taxes on the rich hurts the poor and the middle class because they will lose their jobs or miss out on being hired by the rich folks who WOULD have created jobs if the taxes were lower.
Raising taxes is a job killer. Adding regulation after regulation is a job killer. Obamacare is a job killer. JOBS help the poor and the middle class NOT entitlements.
Obama doesn't care about the poor OR the middle class. The proof is ALL around us.
What is bad about him, he doesn't know what he doesn't know.
Not to bore you with an economics lecture but there are two main theory's of economics, classic and Keynesian. Keynes deals more with short term, classic is more long term. So far as I know every economist that works for Obama is a Keynesian economist. That is like that story of the blind men and the elephant.
Unlike most people that didn't vote for him I don't think he is evil, I don't think he wants to destroy the country. I just don't think he is actively seeking all the information to make the right decisions. Because of this he is in fact destroying our economy.
An example is quantitative easing. Because you can't push the Fed fund rate below zero using traditional methods the Fed buys long term assets. Drives up asset prices but also devalues the dollar. If so many countries weren't tied to our dollar we would be seeing double digit inflation right now. Since we have gone through almost three rounds of this, if someone calls our bluff we are talking triple digit inflation. We will be nostalgic for five dollar a gallon gas, ahh the good old days.
Don't believe me, look at the change in conversion rates today, how about the market?
Again, I don't think that Obama realizes this, but that is a problem isn't it?

I know for my family, we have focused our attention on how to be ok in spite of Obama, certainly not because of him. The talk about the middle class is really just rhetoric, he cares nothing for anyone but his special interest groups. I don't believe he cares about America at all.
I just hope the next four years go quickly. So for me, I need to do what needs to be done to make sure my family is ok. Thank God that there is a little balance with the republicans keeping control of the House.
Extremists can be alarming, but they do seem to scare people into thinking a certain way. I try to pay just enough attention to know what is going on, but not so much that I begin to panic. It's hard to do!!

I am concerned that our massive debt makes us vulnerable. I am also concerned for Obama's plan to reduce our military--our security needs to be one of the administration's top priorities.
My two biggest issues: 1) the national debt; and 2) numerous executive orders.
He seems like a nice guy personally.

In short, Obama has started to pick up the pieces. Just as Bush left office, my employment fell apart. Now I am again on my feet, providing for my family better than ever, and I have our President to thank for this. Oh he pissed me off... believe me. I still don't agree with all of his policies, but enough to keep my family safe. That's what matters most to me in life, my family. And for now, it's working.

Except for the part about the deficit being solved by returning to the Clinton-era tax rates on the wealthiest. That is only one part of a multi-pronged, complicated and difficult solution.

Because he has compassion for his fellow man, has a clue on what needs to be done to better this country as a whole due and has an idea of what it takes to clean up Bush's mess.
And When ROM RY began their debates both clearly lied! Also Rom refused to release his tax returns for 10 years---leading many to believe that yes he unamericanly hid funds overseas.
Granted most politicans lie, but banality of Rom Ry's lies corresponding with their flip flopping attitudes to gain votes were fortunately picked up by many.

We don't know what the future holds, because the U.S. and the world have never been in this position before. An overpopulated planet, with a global economy. Not enough jobs for all. Obama does not know the answer to that situation, neither does Romney. All any president can do is try out different ideas -- that is, if he can get Congress to act.
