Jff-my Own Presidential Poll. Who Will You Vote For? ONE SENTENCE PLEASE!

Updated on October 08, 2012
M.P. asks from Peoria, IL
69 answers

We always see the polls but I want to see the reality by asking all you moms (or dads) out there.
After seeing the debate last night, who will you vote for and why IN ONE SENTENCE OR LESS.

My vote goes to Romney for a better economic plan and I think his personal business experience will help him get the deficit under control.

What can I do next?

I will vote for Obama because I believe in a country that allows gay MARRIAGE, I believe in a president (not the state) that values education, and I believe that women should have better health care that what Mitt Romney is suggesting.

Obama. His party's platform represents my beliefs -- from education to the environment to fair taxation to ... everything, including health care; Romney's doesn't.

Okay, with the one-sentence thing I cheated via a semicolon. But I think I kept it short. :)

Romney.

I am tired of President Obama's divisive rhetoric. I am tired of the "war on women" - he created it by claiming that if we don't have Obamacare then our employers will take away birth control. That is such a load! I've had health insurance that covered birth control and health insurance that didn't - no president is going to "take away" my birth control. It isn't expensive - even if my health insurance doesn't cover it. I can choose to pay for a pill rather than unlimited text and data!

Here are my other reasons:
The only reason the unemployment figures are down today is because more people quit looking for work!
Obamacare is going to mean an additional tax for me because the employer who insures us will choose to pay the penalty rather than health care - it is much cheaper to pay the penalty! Then I get the Obamacare garbage!
Obamacare already meant that while my mammogram was covered - my breast sonogram was NOT! I would have rather paid the deductibles on both.
Obamacare is being forced on my church! Big mistake Obama - big mistake!
President Obama's method is my way or the highway - Mr. Romney managed to govern as a Republican in a majority Democrat state. Sounds like Reagan or Clinton. Sounds like someone with experience at compromise, negotiation, and getting things done.
I do not like the take from the haves and give to the have nots policies of President Obama. And YES, I did build it!
I made my educational choices (entering a lower paid field so went to a less expensive university and worked through school, too so I would have less debt) based upon my understanding of what future income would be - and I am not interested in paying for students to get degrees to go into social work from $50K a year private schools! If you want that, then you pay for it - no student loan forgiveness! I know that everyone who got a federal student loan for the last 25 years went to student loan counseling. If you ignored the info there then you are stupid and you need to pay for that.
I believe in marriage between a man and a woman.
I do not believe in abortion.
Romney said God and Creator on national TV!!

The media hasn't been able to dig up anything negative about Mr. Romney - and if they can't find anything than he is probably a better person than me.

There is no way that I could vote for Obama. His economic policies have been disasterous to this nation. From the deficit, to healthcare to foreign policy. He is a complete and utter failure. Our credit rating is lower, gas prices higer, food prices higher, jobs creation WAY down, manufacturing, down. Divided this nation. Wealthy v. Poor. It is mind boggling.

The middle east is blowing up, his administration refused additional security for the embassy in Libya. Syria, Iran, Afganistan, Iraq, Egypt are a mess. Israel is a sitting duck. Good lord, when I put it on paper it is terrifying.

As an educated woman, I did not buy into the "war on woman" bs. Education is important but I do not believe that the federal government is the answer to the question.

After watching the debate last night there is no doubt that Mitt Romney is the better suited person for the job. The president looked and sounded arrogant and that he had better things to do. Sorry, the president works for all of us and we have a right to question his record because guess what? He has one now! Romney/Ryan.

My vote will go to Romney. He was not my first choice as the republican nominee, but I believe almost anyone will do a better job than Obama has. (Personally, I would have loved to see Herman Cain as the republican nominee. I think he would have really given Obama a run for his money.) I was already planning on voting for Romney and was really pleased with how he handled himself during the debate last night.

I'm middle class and my financial situation has seriously deteriorated since Obama has been in office. I can't handle any higher grocery and gas prices. It seems like anytime something good happens Obama wants to take credit for it and when anything bad happens he's pointing his finger at Bush or someone else and shirking his responsibility. I don't expect anybody to be absolutely perfect, but stand up and take responsibility and admit you made a mistake when you screw up. I'm also sick to death of people saying that if you don't like something about Obama then you're a racist. Why can't I just dislike him because, in my opinion, he's not doing a good job? I'm also sick of the media ignoring Obama's screw-ups. They're more interested in trying to sway public opinion instead of reporting the facts and truth.

Romney.

To those that say Romney doesn't care, I say he cares about 6 times more than Obama if you compare the percentage of their income that they make in charitable contributions.

The real measure of a man is not what he does when everyone is looking, but what he does when no one is looking. Romney has given more to charity, percentage wise, than Obama and Biden combined and has for decades.

If we compare Obama's unemployment record to Romney's unemployment record (as MA govenor), Romney is almost twice as good as Obama. The more people that work, the smaller the deficit. (I'm sure everyone knows that .)

Sorry it was more than one sentence. If you only want to read one sentence, read the first one. Good luck to you and yours.

Begrudgingly Romney because 1. I'm a small business owner and the Obama Administration has policies in place that are absolutely devastating to small business 2. I think the economy's issues need to be addressed through a business minded approach 3. President Obama has allowed our country to become so divided...to me, a true leader can bring people together, even in the face of adversity.

Bin Laden could've been killed 4 previous times and was called off by the president. The last time it was called off it was accidentally "not heard" by tired military hunting him down and then being called off. Only repeating a military personnel, not my personal experience. But it is something to think about. Have also heard many say, I'm against abortion, same sex marriage, forced healthcare, the current economy sucks, etc. etc., but Obama is who I am choosing. WTH???? I don't care who you choose, because that is your priveledge to vote, but don't make yourself sound so stupid that your voting for someone that you are against everything he is for! No matter who you vote for, your going to hear bad on both. Romney is rich, well so is Obama, right? Romney is Mormon, so what??? Obama is trying to make healthcare available to everyone, great! But insurance companies are going to hike healthcare rates, I can't afford personal healthcare. I own a small business so my choice is clear for me and my family. Do what is right for you and your family, so choose wisely based on as many facts as you can gather that would benefit your situation. REMEMBER YOU CAN'T GRIPE ABOUT WHO WINS (IF NOT YOUR CHOICE) IF YOU DON'T VOTE!!!

Still on the fence. I don't agree with everything Obama has done be he took office right as our world was crashing, not because of him, but his predecessor, Little Bush. It's been slow change but honestly if the government hadn't stepped in, where would we be today? It could have been way worse than it was 4 years ago. I'm still not happy where we are at but am a lot happier than 2-4 years ago.

With Romney sure he says he will lower taxes but he will also lower deductions so the same amount of revenue will come in from taxes. It will benefit some that don't take deductions but what about us middle class that barely get $100 in child credits when you have 2 kids and pay $19k a year in daycare? It will hurt me worse or possibly be the same as know. I don't know.

How about Ron Paul...we'll see as the month progresses, right now I'm not happy with either choice. Picking the lesser of 2 evils isn't so great...grrr
