What Do You Say to Your Toddler When Going down for a Nap?

When I put my daughter down at night, we say "Good-night." Well, now at nap-time she says "good-night" and I don't know what to say back, I end up saying, "Ok I love you!" while leaving the room. It's very cute that she does this, but, I'm baffled and feel a little silly for having to ask the question. What do you say to your LO when napping? Thanks mamas!

Never really thought about it, but we say, "good night, love you! have a good nap." I know this doesn't really help, sorry.

My Mom (she is our sitter :) always told my step son when he was younger "Ok go rest your eyes and I'll see you in a bit" and he would say ok! She now tells my Son "ok time for Mimi's".

Good luck Mommy!

I always just say/said "Have a good sleep, baby. Mama loves you..."

I even say that at night time because I want him to sleep peacefully.

I set a 1:30 alarm on my phone for nap time. When the alarm goes off, I made up a silly song to go along with the tune and we sing it together. It goes something like this "Nap Time Woo, Woo, a Woo, Nap Time, Yah! Its Nap time" She sings along and dances! I scoop her up and take her to potty, tuck her in and give her a cup of milk and leave the room." We have been doing this since I moved her to a toddler bed at 18 months and she is nearly 3 now.

Never thought of that but regardless if nap or nighttime, I say "night, night - see you in a little bit". That way (at least I think she thinks it!) it will be real quick until sleeping time is over!
