Westbrae which is also a maker rice milk and perhaps even this one was the first health food store in the USA in 1969. Totally organic and the model for later ones and copy cats all over the country. They were completely organic not a cross/over/ cross/up store. All organic all the time.
Later on they became the distributer of organic food all over the west coast.
In Mexico they call rice milk orzo and everyone drinks it.
These disclaimers are so the maker won't get sued. Of course milk from cows in BAD for you. If you want real milk buy goat milk. It's a lot like mother's own. You can buy it. In my time due to unavailability I had the goats so we could keep my children's allergies at bay.

I've been giving my son (19 months) chocolate almond milk every day. He seems fine... I'm not sure if that helps...

It's okay. My son has had a dairy allergy since birth. Once he started taking something other than breast milk, which was at about age one, I started him on Organic Rice Dream. The pediatrician said that was fine, we just have to make sure he gets enough protein. He's been on it ever since - he's now going on 3-1/2. He loves it and is healthy!

I don't think there's anything inherently dangerous about rice milk, I think the "warning" is because there have been some isolated incidents of parents giving their children rice or soy milk instead of formula. Rice milk is not a complete food for infants, but if your toddler is otherwise healthy and gets enough calcium and other nutrients, you can talk to your doctor if you want but I think it's a CYA move on the part of the manufacturer.

It is perfectly fine. You may want to double check to make sure that the rice milk is fortified with all the right vitamins. They have to put it there to be PC. My middle has been drinking rice milk from transition from formula to milk. He is normal and healthy. He has had a little teeth trouble, I think that is because when he was cutting teeth he got such high high fevers his teeth are a little on the soft side..well alot on the soft side. He has had to have 7 root canals. I have been told that it has no relation to the milk he has been drinking. most is fortified.

Just to make sure though always talk to her doc. They will most likely say no its ok give it to her.

Rice milk doesn't have as much fat and protein and some other nutrients as cow's milk. So it shouldn't be used in place of formula for infants and the fats in cows milk are good for preschoolers too. That's the reason for the safety warning. My 1 year old with a dairy allergy drinks it with no issues, and we make sure he gets health fats and the needed vitamins and minerals in his other foods.
