Was wondering if anyone had experience delivering at Edward Hospital with the Doctors from DuPage Medical OBGYN? Was it a good experience? Who was the doctor?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Hi everyone, thanks for the feedback and input! I will keep my options open for my care for this pregnancy. I must have a c-Section as I already had two breach so I hope to "pick" the due date and doctor.

I personally have not had any experiences there, however, my friend whom is expecting her second, went there with the first and is going back with the second. She is very happy there.

The doctors at DuPage Medical Group are excellent. I have been going to Dr. Olsen for 10 years, but I like everyone in the practice. My prenatal care and 3 deliviries were with them. I highly recommend them.

I delivered both my kids through Central DuPage OBGyn(I think this is the group you are asking about). I liked all the dr's there. Dr. Bernardo delivered both my boys. The other dr's that would top my list are Dr. Heimberger, Dr. Weeks and Dr. Phillipe. However, I had good experiences with all the OB's there(you rotate through at some point in your pregnancy so you can meet them all in case your primary ob isn't on call when you deliver). If you choose them I would recommend going to the Spaulding office at Edward if you can. They tend to have the shortest wait time:)

I delivered my first with Rush Copley OB/GYN (Dr. Richard Tom , Dr. Bernardita Druhan, Dr. Andrea Jones, midwives Karen & Noreen). I delivered my second with DuPage Medical Group at Central DuPage Hospital (Dr. Siegel did the delivery, and lots of other doctors in the group). I have to say that I was not impressed with Dupage medical group after delivering the first at Rush Copley. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the Rush Copley group. I REALLY liked every doctor in the group. VERY good doctors with EXCELLENT personal attention as well. I can't say enough good things about them. I've referred them a lot and the people I've referred have also had excellent experiences with them. A friend originally referred them to me. After that great experience, I was REALLY disappointed with Dupage medical group. I only met about half the doctors. Half of the ones I met I didn't like and the other half were fine, but I didn't like any of them as much as my least favorite in the Rush Copley group. So after I had my second child, I switched back to the Rush Copley group even though it's a good 45 minutes away from home. It's worth it to me. Probably closer to you since you are looking to deliver at Edwards. I don't know where all the Rush Copley group delivers besides at Rush Copley where I delivered.
Not having any other experience besides Dupage medical I think it would have been fine. A friend at work had 2 babies with Dupage medical delivering at Edwards. She said it was a great experience, but when I told her why I didn't like them, she would say...yeah, that's true...thinking that was true of anywhere.
Here's some of the downsides of Dupage as compared to Rush Copley:
* waiting room time was an average of an hour long. When it got to the end and I was adament about not waiting long because I had a babysitter with my other child, the wait time they cut to like 15 minutes. LONGEST wait at Rush Copley was 5 minutes. Longest wait at Dupage was just over 1.5 hours.
* well baby ultrasound was about 5/10 minutes long and to the point at Dupage medical...that time was including it being tougher to determine the sex and trying to find that for us. At Rush copley, they were very personal and took like 45 minutes with us explaining and having fun with it allowing us to kind of have our own pace.
* I had a c-section with both (both were breach) and with Rush Copley, they let my husband cut the cord and he felt involved. At Dupage medical the doctors said something like stand if you want to see your baby born and it was a lot less personal just
* doctors weren't very personal overall at Dupage medical, doctors were very friendly and excited with you at Rush Copley.
* The hospitals are different, but I wouldn't say one is better than the other...but I do like the Rush Copley group SOOO much better than the Dupage medical group when comparing.
I hope this helps and you have a great experience with whatever choices you make!! Best wishes to you!!

Loved my drs -- Siegel was main guy by accident, he delivered my 2nd (not at Edwards though -- at Central Dupage in Winfield, whic h was lovely and peaceful environment, everyone very helpful and friendly. Dr. Bernadette Bernardo also so great, she's very professional but always willing to listen after she asks a question. Phillipe is also good, i liked alldoctors in that group, they are all really great and after 2 pregnancies w/ them, find i can happily recommend them all. Edwards though, I don't know about. Hope the info on doctors helps though. :)

I LOVED Edward Hospital. I deliverd both my children there. The nurses were awesome! I can't say enough great things about my experience at Edward. Sorry, can't help you with the Doc situation. My docs were ok at best (Not with DuPage Medical OB/GYN). But my friend delivered with a midwife and said it was an awesome experience. If you aren't impressed with your current routes and have had "normal" deliveries, you should think about the midwife.

Dr. Phillipi is my primary GYN. I did not use her for delivery since we moved here when my daughter was 6 weeks old, but I really, really like her. The men are okay, perhaps not as sympathetic as the women, but overall I've had a good experience there.

Best of luck!

Actually my Dr.Vimi Bajaj who delivered two of my children at Christ Hospital had transferred to Edward Hospital. Her new location is practically across the street from Edward. I would recommend her. She has a very calming and reassuring demeanor. I do not have her new number, but she is located in Naperville.

I had my son at Edward Hospital and I LOVED the hospital, everyone is so nice and friendly, I told my husband I don't care where we move but when we have the next one, we will do it there. My dr. was Dr. Michael Feingold, who I will not go back to, so I am also looking for a new OB/GYN, my primary Dr. is with Dupage Health Specialist, and there is a OB/GYN office there that I need to check into.
