Used Car Puchase--any Good Experiences?

Our van and sedan are going to need replacing in the next year. Do you have a dealership/car lot you've had good experiences with? I've heard Car Max cars are good but more expensive. I'm still new to the area, and have no idea who is really out to make a buck, and who is out to have repeat, satisfied customers. Would love any suggestions! Thanks!

Hi B.,

My husband is a car salesman at Ewing Auto Group in Plano. They sell new GMC, Buick and Pontiac, as well as used cars of all types. I can give you his contact information if you are interested. He can definitely help you out and get you the best deal you're looking for.

Thanks,
C.

I just purchased a used vehicle last month from Saturn of Ft. Worth. I'd been to several car lots previously (even Carmax). None of them offered me very much for my trade in, Saturn of Ft. Worth offered me $2000 more than I expected! You should ask for Joe Soda, he's unlike any sales person I've ever met, honest and not pushy! This dealership is very family friendly and even if you don't live close to them, it's more than worth the drive!

Good luck!

Give Charles Kurth a call. He has helped several of my friends with car purchases. He is SOOOO nice. He works @ Huffines Chevrolet and has access to new and used cares I believe. If he can't help you I know he will be happy to point you in the right direction. His number is ###-###-####. He is really a great guy!

Toyota of Grapevine is where we bought ours. They where very reliable and after our last experience buying a Chevrolet (it broke down no less then 10 times in the first year) I will forever own a Toyota. Ask for Noah he is unbelievably sweet and he actually helped us figure out the best financing option for our new car.(which happened to be not through the dealership)

I second Huffines!

My family has been buying cars from them for over 20 years. My current van was used but only by the dealership.

Good Luck!

Carmax has no haggle pricing - so sometimes it can seem like they're a bit more expensive -- BUT it is worth it! In the first 30 days you can bring your vehicle in as many times as you need to have it looked at or to have anything/everything replaced. You can guarantee that nothing bought from them has ever been in a wreck! We've bought 2 minivans from Carmax and plan on only buying from them. My dh also got a part time job with them last summer and we were so impressed that they aren't all "talk", that their company politics truly match the great showmanship on their sales floor!

We went to Bonaham Crysler in Bohaham TX. Yeah it is a little bit of a drive but it gave my husband and I an opportunity to stop at all the dealerships along the way and saw what a great deal we were getting. Every car we looked at was atleast $5ooo more that what we ended up purchasing ours for. Byran New (I think that was his name) helped us and he was wonderful. Pretty much the price online is what you get. By the way the cars are marked for more when you get there but b/c you find it online they do special pricing in hopes of catching those that are farther away.

I got my car from Carmax. I love my car! I did my shopping online before we even went to the dealership. I knew exactly what I wanted that way. We bought the service agreement. After owning it for two years, the DVD player went on the fritz, I took it in and they replaced it for free! I felt like I got a good deal on the price. Carmax only sells the newer used cars, so if you really need cheap, they might not have what you want.

Good luck!
